Top Dog Dies Advent Calendar

Hello! Hope you had a splendid weekend! If you enjoyed my Advent calendar share from Friday, you just might like this one too. Made from the adorable Thumb Notch Box die from Top Dog Dies, you can use these tiny boxes to count down the days before Christmas by filling them with candies small ornaments and holiday activities.

Each little box is topped with a pretty snowflake made with another one of my favorite Top Dog Dies, The Snowflake Trio Set. Then I numbered each box, wrapped them with colorful washi from Doodlebug Design and added a little Doodle Twine bow.

Cute? By the way, those candies are to die for! They're dark chocolate covered almonds from Whole Foods. They're a staple at our house! Whenever I get a sweet tooth attack, a couple of these save the day! ;)

Speaking of little chocolate candies...I bet these boxes would make adorable packaging for homemade truffles! :)

What would you make with them?

I Heart You & Giveaway Winner

Hello and T.G.I.F. everyone!

I have a Doodlebug Lovebirds card to share with you before I run out the door to drive Christopher to camp and then run some errands. Have you seen this clever idea to create a message of love within the alphabet? I've seen it a number of times so I'm not sure who's brilliant idea it is, but I thought the new Love Letters Alpha Stickers by Doodlebug would be perfect for it!

The heart in the center is a Mini Doodle Pops dimensional sticker with a Doodle Twine bow fastened on. What do you think? Kinda cute, huh? If you would like to see some more Lovebirds projects from my Doodlebug teammates click here.

Before I run, I have a winner to announce for yesterday's Card Maker magazine giveaway. Congratulations goes to Diana Waite of Scrappy Wonder Woman. Enjoy your magazine Diana!

Have a great day everyone!

I Smell Chocolate

Hi!

Thank God it's Friday because Dan, Christopher and I could use a little rest and relaxation this weekend due to a cold we've been swapping! Tis the season, right? Thankfully it's just a cold!

Coupled with my sniffles, it's a gray and rainy day in our area so how about a bright and happy project share? You up for something created with happy colors, fun pinwheels and sweet chocolate?

I used the Silhouette to make these little goody boxes and then I decorated them with Bella Blvd's Birthday Girl collection. Finishing touches include pink flower shaped buttons, baker's twine from Doodlebug Design and Dutch chocolate mints. Wouldn't these make fabulous party favors for birthdays or showers?

So, what will you be doing this weekend? We have a treadmill being delivered today. Recently while I was visiting my doctor he asked about my exercise routine and when I replied that the sedentary life was for me he said, "Fix that!" Okay doc! Gee! I guess it's not enough that I don't smoke or drink much and I eat healthy! Now I have to exercise too!

Enjoy your weekend! Thanks for visiting!

A Wee Christmas Ornament

Good day!

I'm popping in with a festive project post this morning before I go run some boring errands. I get to drop the car off for servicing, go to the post office and get a flu shot! Do I know how to have a good time or what!?!?! :)

At Doodlebug Design we were challenged to make Christmas ornaments using the adorable North Pole collection and here's my little creation.

A couple years ago I made a similar type of ornament using a Bazzill Basics chipboard base that was published in Simply Handmade.

Those chipboard shapes are no longer available so I made my own by cutting and gluing together two thin chipboard pieces and a piece of patterned paper.

I think I've mentioned a time or two that I'm smitten over the Mini Doodle Pop 3-D stickers. Aren't they cute?

I decorated the tree Mini Pop with a few Mini Pearls and I used a Cute Cut tag and some Doodle Twine for the hanger.

I really should have taken another picture of it on our tree. When we decorated over Thanksgiving weekend, I hung this little guy up and it looks adorable!

Do you make Christmas ornaments? If you would like to see more, hop over to the Doodlebug blog.

Have a super day and thanks for your visit!

Fresh Picked

Hello!

Wow, we've been busy this week which is making the days fly by!

Today I have a Halloween scrapbook page post for you. At Doodlebug Design we are sharing a couple ideas on preserving your pumpkin patch memories using the Haunted Manor collection.

These are our jack-o-lanterns from 2011. Each year Christopher draws the face he wants on paper and I carve it for him. He didn't know that chevron patterns are all the rage, but used one for his pumpkin's mouth. Pretty cool, huh?

I love all the little Haunted Manor tags included on the Cute Cuts sheet.

I'm not so creative when it comes to carving pumpkins. Maybe it's the lack of experience or good tools? I just used a leaf cookie cutter for my design. Simple. Easy.

Have you seen all the new Mini Doodle Pops dimensional stickers? There's a pumpkin above and a little owl and spider below.

Doodle Twine makes for perfect spider strings and webs. :)

So there you have it...a quick and easy, clean design for preserving your Halloween memories.

For the first day this week I don't think I have anywhere to go. No appointments, voting or errands to run. I plan on doing a little crafting and enjoying a quieter day. How about you?

Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Love

Hi!

Have you seen the new holiday line by Doodlebug Design? It's called North Pole and it's absolutely adorable!

I used the new Mini Doodle-Pops for each of my little Polaroid frames.

Look at the yummy Christmas Doodle Twine!

I stuck a small rhinestone in the center of the snowflake Mini Doodle-Pop. Can you see it in there?

You will be seeing more North Pole creations from me over the next couple months. :)

Thanks for your visit!

Happy Birthday

Hi!

I love die cuts! One of my favorite die cut tools is the Silhouette. Do you have one? Or a Cricut? How about a Big Shot? Or maybe you are like me and have several die cutting systems? ;)

I created the sentiment for this card with my trusty old Silhouette. I still have the original model and have gotten a ton of use from it!

The background embossing was done with a Quickutz folder. I raised my sentiment by using foam mounting tape and wrapped the card with a bit of Doodle Twine. I do love a bit of twine! :)

I hope you like the card and have a wonderful Wednesday!

Team USA

T.G.I.F!

Have you been enjoying the Olympics?

Thought I would create a patriotic card in honor of the games.

Supplies include a Cuddlebug star embossing folder, a Tiny Tags die cut, sentiment stamp and star dies by Papertrey Ink. The star border cut is from My Favorite Things and the baker's twine is from Doodlebug Design.

Hope you have some great plans for the weekend! :)

Celebrate Today

Hello! Today's a great day to celebrate because I'm at CHA meeting some of the people behind the blogs I follow and checking out all the fabulous new releases! Lot's of exciting things happening and I look forward to sharing them with you when I return!

Before I left for CHA yesterday I did a little playing with the new Papertrey Ink 'Hello Sunshine' die set to create this card.

These pretty patterned papers and twine are from Doodlebug Design, the line is called Snips and Snails. The sentiment is also from Papertry Ink, from their 'Friendship Jar' stamp set. The clouds were made with a die from My Favorite Things.

So, have you seen a lot of the new CHA releases? Do you have any favorites or must haves? I want it all! Not surprising right? ;)

Thanks for popping in and giving the blog a little love while I'm gone. Hopefully, I'm not having technical issues while I'm gone and can read your comments.

Have a wonderful Tuesday!

CHA Bound & Giveaway Winner

It's CHA time! After weeks of crafty preparations it's finally here! I'll be flying to Chicago today and the show starts tomorrow!

This will be the first time I get to see my projects at CHA. This birthday card will be displayed at the Love My Tapes booth.

I used a black and white stripe washi, in stores soon, and this Gray/Polka Dots style. The twine is from Doodlebug and the wooden star is from Prima.

The stamped phrases, Tiny Tag die cut and glassine bag are from Papertrey Ink. The dry embossed stars were created with a Cuttlebug folder.

Thanks for your visit. I'll be back throughout the week with more CHA projects.

Oh.....I have a winner to announce for the yummy Little Yellow Bicycle prize package!

Happy Birthday

Hello! How was your Fourth of July? I hope you enjoyed every bit of it!

Recently I bought the new Papertrey Ink pennants die and broke it in making this birthday card.

There's lots of Doodlebug Design goodies here. I used their Hello Spring collection, Mini Jewels and Doodle Twine.

The sentiment stamp is from the You Said It stamp set from Doodlebug and Hampton Arts.

The wood 'dowels' are actually bamboo skewers. I cut the size down so that they would fit on a A2 size card.

Well, today is a bit of an exciting day because this afternoon we go to Christopher's brand new middle school to meet his new teachers, pick up his gym uniform and take one last tour. He starts on Monday and so far he doesn't seem very nervous.

Thanks for stopping in. I hope you have a great day! Seems a little strange to have one day off in the middle of the week and then back to work again the next day, doesn't it? At least the weekend is just around the corner!

Kathy :)
