Friday Sketch

How was your Thanksgiving day? I couldn't have asked for a better one. Spending the day with my boys, cooking our favorite recipes, sipping a little wine and ending the day with a slice of pumpkin pie topped with whipped cream was all so glorious! I'm truly thankful for all we have! And thankful for leftovers! ;)

Today on the Bella Blvd. blog there's a card sketch for you to try along with some design team interpretations of the sketch. Since it's fall and I knew this card would be blogged on Thanksgiving weekend, I thought I'd create my card with the Hello Autumn collection.

My favorite dies to use for fall crafting are leaves!

I'm off to decorate the tree and deck the halls for Christmas. And watch Oreo climb said tree! Cat!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Popping in today to wish all of you a wonderful Thanksgiving day! I hope you are gathered around those near and dear and share a lovely meal together.

I've already made the cranberries, pumpkin pie, whipped cream and stuffing. It's smelling quite yummy in the house this morning!

FYI...Reverse Confetti is offering 20% off your entire order all day today and tomorrow for black Friday. If you've been eyeing a particular stamp set or two or some cool Confetti Cuts, now's the perfect time!

What's New Wedensday

It's What's New Wednesday on the Bella Blvd. blog today and I've created a couple card designs for you using the latest Hello Autumn and Christmas Cheer collections.

Just in time for tomorrow's Thanksgiving celebration is this Happy Harvest card. Cutting out one the pre-printed cards from the Daily Details sheet gave me a focal point to easily build this card around.

My next card began with a Paper Pieces Die Cut heart that I topped with a smaller 'present' die and a Treasures and Text snowman sticker. Isn't he cut?!?!

Not only will we be celebrating Thanksgiving here tomorrow, but this weekend kicks off the holiday decorations. I wonder if Oreo is still going to climb the tree? I sure hope he grows out of that someday so I can hang our more fragile ornaments once again. ;)

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Merry Merry Christmas

Ooh la la...'tis the season for combining my favorite Reverse Confetti Cuts to create fun holiday cards! And this one was a blast to make!

Oh how I love layers and die cuts are perfect for creating lots of them. I start with bigger cuts and top them with the smaller designs resulting in lots of dimension...especially when the die cut shows the layer below as this Pretty Panels Mini Circle Garland Confetti Cut!

In the Fall

Last I checked, it's still autumn, but with frost on the lawn and temperatures in the teens each morning, it's feeling more like winter! So...I thought I'd share a card created with Scraptastic Club's Free Fallin' kit. It's brimming of  rich warm colors and reminds me it's still November.

When I was cleaning my office a few weeks ago, I came across an old Sizzix die that was unopened. The shame! It's the wood-grain frame on this card. I love it! No wonder I bought it! Wish there were more hours in the day to give all my tools and paper collections the love they deserve.

Guess what? The new Scraptastic Club kits for December 2014 are out! Here's a little look see...

Woot! Now's the time to buy those sets you've been wanting. Go ahead...get a little stocking stuffer or two for yourself! ;)

Brrrrr...it's been cold! Yesterday morning we beat our record low here in the Raleigh area by two degrees! That record was set over 100 years ago! What do we do at the Martin home when it's freezing? Turn on the oven and bake snowball cookies (pecan balls) and whip up some hot cocoa!

Thankful

I took a stroll through Doodlebug memory lane the other day when I broke out the Happy Harvest collection from last fall. Isn't it colorful and fun and that squirrel with the acorn...too stinkin' cute!?!?!

I have so much to be thankful for! I could write long long lists! There's not a day that goes by that I don't appreciate every little thing...from a healthy breakfast in the morning all the way through to the end of the day when I get to curl up in a nice warm bed and my family is healthy and safe!

Perfect Day

The pumpkin on this card is making me think of pumpkin pie! Drool! Just about 10 days until Thanksgiving and a little slice of heaven! With whipped cream on top! Another little slice of heaven is the latest Scraptastic Club kit called Free Fallin.'

There's a lovely set of chipboard accents included in the kit. I used six of them on my card...the adorable banner ribbon sentiment, an acorn and a hand full of leaves. Fall perfection!
