I Smell Chocolate!

Oh how I love chocolate and Christmas and seeing my work published! Available now is the Winter 2013 issue of CardMaker where you will find my Naughty or Nice gift set created with Doodlebug Design's North Pole collection.

This line includes everything festive and colorful...just add chocolate to sweeten the deal!

While perusing the pages of this latest issue, you will also find a card of mine in the 'Talk Turkey' section...created with the cutest turkey of all from Bella Blvd's Thankful collection. It's seriously one handsome bird!

Well, I hope you have a great day! And I hope Christopher enjoys his 7th grade school trip to the zoo! Do you think he'll see a turkey? Or consume some chocolate? Well, I packed a handful of dark chocolate covered raisins in his lunch! ;)

Christmas in July

Today I have a Christmas in July card share for you! If you enjoy creating handmade cards it's not too early to whip out your favorite holiday paper collections, turn on some festive tunes and get craftin'! :)

Yes, it does feel kind of weird to think snow and decked halls in the middle of summer, but once I've listened to a few Christmas carols and perused my holiday Pinterest folders, my festive juices begin to flow!

I created this snowy card with Doodlebug's North Pole collection. I love the dimension you can achieve using the Mini Doodle Pop stickers! I also use foam mounting tape on regular stickers to make them stand out. The Polaroid frame was created with my set of square Nestabilitites from Spellbinders. I love to make little scenes framed in Polaroids!

Oops!

Hello!

I have a funny little story and card share for you. :) A few days ago I thought I'd take out the North Pole collection from Doodlebug Design and attempt some projects for the 2013 Paper Crafts Holiday Cards issue.

I love this festive line and jumped right in mixing and matching die cuts, stickers and twine.

I really get into the zone sometimes when I'm crafting. How about you?

When I was done, complete with matching envelope, I was pleased with my work and felt this card had a good shot at publication...

...until I noticed that it opens on the left hand side! ;) Oh gee! Oh well! I have a dear friend who is left handed that will get this card next Christmas. :)

Hope you have a great weekend! Thanks for visiting!

Cash & Candy Tutorial

Hello!

How are your Christmas preparations going? I just popped my cards and ornaments in the mail this morning. Is there anyone on your gift list that's got you stumped? How about some cash? I know giving money can be boring and impersonal, but you can dress it up and make it a fun gift to receive!

Over at the Doodlebug Design blog today I have a tutorial for making these Hershey bar wraps with the adorable North Pole collection! It just might help you cross a person or two off your list. Go take a peek!

Thanks for stopping by!

North Pole and Giveaway Winner

Hello!

How was your weekend? I planned to share our photo of Christopher with Santa today, but he decided at the last minute he really didn't want to take one. Sniff sniff. Our boy is growing up. Sniff. He hit another milestone this weekend and stayed home alone for the very first time while Dan and I went on a walk around the neighborhood! It's all so bittersweet. I'm happy to see him gain independence and that Dan and I have more freedom as he gets older, but I miss all the little boy things, like sitting on Santa's lap!

How about a Christmas craft share instead? I created this whimsical card with Doodlebug's adorable North Pole collection.

I used the following Studio Calico sketch for the design. They have the best sketches, don't they?

So I didn't get everything Christmas related handled this weekend like I had hoped. I need to run and get my cards in the mail box. I hope you have a great start to your week!

Before I go I want to congratulate Gregsgirl's Crafty Corner! You won my extra copy of CardMaker magazine! I'll be in touch for your address.

A Wee Christmas Ornament

Good day!

I'm popping in with a festive project post this morning before I go run some boring errands. I get to drop the car off for servicing, go to the post office and get a flu shot! Do I know how to have a good time or what!?!?! :)

At Doodlebug Design we were challenged to make Christmas ornaments using the adorable North Pole collection and here's my little creation.

A couple years ago I made a similar type of ornament using a Bazzill Basics chipboard base that was published in Simply Handmade.

Those chipboard shapes are no longer available so I made my own by cutting and gluing together two thin chipboard pieces and a piece of patterned paper.

I think I've mentioned a time or two that I'm smitten over the Mini Doodle Pop 3-D stickers. Aren't they cute?

I decorated the tree Mini Pop with a few Mini Pearls and I used a Cute Cut tag and some Doodle Twine for the hanger.

I really should have taken another picture of it on our tree. When we decorated over Thanksgiving weekend, I hung this little guy up and it looks adorable!

Do you make Christmas ornaments? If you would like to see more, hop over to the Doodlebug blog.

Have a super day and thanks for your visit!

North Pole Ornament

Hi!

Did you have an enjoyable Thanksgiving weekend? I didn't mean to go MIA the entire weekend, but it felt so good to take a break from blogging. I typically blog six days a week, everyday except Sunday. Instead I enjoyed being with my family, eating, decorating the house, listening to Christmas music, sipping hot chocolate and even cleaning out some closets and cupboards. It was perfect!

On Sunday I got to thinking about the ornaments I want to make for gifts this year. Silhouette has cut files for half off so I perused some and found this 3-D tree. What do you think?

The colorful, happy patterned papers and accents I  used are from Doodlebug's North Pole collection.

I think this little Mini Doodle Pop bird is too tweet!

My hanger is made from Christmas Doodle Twine.

My boys gave it two thumbs up so it's a go....the 2012 ornament.

I hope you have a good Monday. Christopher was really dragging his heels this morning. Poor kid!

Thanks for your visit!

A Little North Pole

Hi!

There's a merry and bright new holiday collection out called North Pole from Doodlebug Design! Have you seen it? It's too cute! You may have seen the card I shared last week, you can see it here.

Pretty colors, lovely Christmas trees and tweet little birds....I love it!

I dressed up the tree on the left with a few pearls.

This sweet little bird was attached with some adhesive foam tape for dimension.

Ticket stubs are always a hit! And more pearls.

This card is a lift of a Boys Only birthday card I made for Christopher back in April. I really like the design and wondered how it would look with the North Pole collection. Why reinvent the wheel every single time you create a card right?

So which do you like better? I can't decide.

Thanks for dropping by and thank you so much for making my day yesterday with all your congrats comments. You are the best!

Christmas Love

Hi!

Have you seen the new holiday line by Doodlebug Design? It's called North Pole and it's absolutely adorable!

I used the new Mini Doodle-Pops for each of my little Polaroid frames.

Look at the yummy Christmas Doodle Twine!

I stuck a small rhinestone in the center of the snowflake Mini Doodle-Pop. Can you see it in there?

You will be seeing more North Pole creations from me over the next couple months. :)

Thanks for your visit!
