Happy Birthday

I've switched gears today to share a birthday card instead of the usual Christmas and wintertime designs of late. Looking at all these hearts and pink colors, I think this would also be lovely for Valentine's Day!

So what can I say about this card? There's certainly lots going on here, isn't there? So, do you like all the layers and embellishments or do you prefer a cleaner, simpler design? Be honest.

I love clean and simple cards too and sometimes I can pull them off, but it's just so fun to keep playing and adding fun elements. That's more my speed.

Oh, I know what I can share with you...see the little sparkly hearts? Those were created by using FSJ's little wooden heart buttons and rubbing them on a Journey Silver ink pad and then topping them with some Journey Glaze and Sparkle dust.

Another Monkey Birthday Card

Today I have another birthday card to share with you that also has a cutesy monkey on it. This one was created with a combination of goodies from my craft room...dies from Reverse Confetti and Fun Stampers Journey along with stamps from Papertrey Ink and left over patterned paper from one of my Scraptasic Club kits.

Looks like all of the products and tools used to make this project could have come from the same company or kit, don't they?  Once in a while I love to simply play and use whatever I have and what's left in the scrap bin. This card is the result. Hope it makes you smile.

Anna Griffin

Hello! Did you catch Anna Griffin on HSN's all day craft event on Tuesday? As always Anna introduced us crafty folks to some beautiful new tools and a stunning new card kit called Pretty Painted Flowers. I'd like to take a moment to share with you today some of the projects I contributed to the event and rave about how much fun these Anna items were to create with!

First up is my favorite new product the Butterfly Cut and Emboss set. I adore butterflies and went a little crazy with this scrapbook page.

I love the three different designs in the set...especially the profile one! And I love to layer them with two or more cuts.

For those of you who love foiled designs like I do there's the new Foil Stamped Card Layers. Just look at all the shimmer you get with these!

I also created a scrapbook page with the Foil Stamped Card Layers cutting the squares to 4" x 4" pieces and putting them together to make a quilted background.

Now for the projects created with the Pretty Painted Flowers Card Kit.  The boarders cards and dimensional flower stickers were all hand painted! Aren't they incredible?

The kit includes enough supplies to make 30 cards including all the flowers, card layers, insert sentiments, foil accents and more. I loved, loved, loved playing with this kit and can't wait to see what Anna has in store for us next time!

Party with Amy Locurto

Hello!

How was your weekend? Ours was glorious! A little on the chilly side for spring, but we still enjoyed some strawberry picking yesterday and a family breakfast outing on Saturday. Friday morning's hike was awesome! We saw so much wildlife including a group of seven deer. I don't care how many times I see them, they always leave me awe-struck!

I'm starting the week off with a birthday card share for you,  created with the colorful, fun and new line called Party with Amy Locurto.

That beach ball sticker makes this a perfect birthday card for summertime, don't you think?

Well, I have lots of work to catch up on after our three-day weekend so I better get to it. Have a great start to your week! :)

Bella Blvd. Cards on Thursday

Hello!

Let’s talk turkey, shall we? Is this the cutest turkey you've ever seen? He's from the brand new Bella Blvd. Thankful collection.

I want this guy's plumage! Just look at those gorgeous feathers….so colorful and perky!

I had to make a card with Mr. Tom as a focal point and here he is in all his glory!

Now how about a birthday card?

I love creating with negative die cuts! I used a Papertrey Ink alphabet die set to create this sentiment.

Then I scattered a few buttons and a couple stickers from the new Bella Blvd. Birthday Girl line together along with a couple strips of Designer Tape for accenting.

Would you like to see some more fabulous Bella Blvd. cards? It's Cards on Thursday over at the Bella Blvd. blog so if you have a couple minutes be sure and check it out! :)

Happy Birthday

I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend so far!

Today's crafty share is a pinwheel birthday card. I think pinwheels and birthdays are perfect together, don't you? Like peanut butter and jelly, peas and carrots and cake and ice cream!

I created this card with left overs from one of my favorite Echo Park collections, Country Drive. It's such a colorful and happy line, also perfect for birthdays!

The pinwheel was made with a thin metal die from The Cat's Pajamas. I use this die quite a bit so it's been well worth the money.

The sentiment was part of a border strip that I cut out and made into a little pennant. The button is ancient Doodlebug. I die for buttons so I stock up on my favorites; I'm like a squirrel with acorns! ;)

Anyone you know celebrating a birthday this weekend? My son is turning 11 in just a couple short weeks. He's pretty excited, talking about what kind of cake he wants, going on a train ride and what train simulator downloads he wants. It's all good!

Thanks for dropping in!

Saturday Creations with Precious Remembrance Shop

I'm excited you're here because today is my very first 'Saturday Creations' post for Precious Remembrance Shop and their newly released stamp sets. During April and May, every Saturday, I'll have a brand new stamp project for you!

Today's card features images from the Birthday Stamp Set that includes this adorable cupcake and coordinating sentiments!

I stamped three of the sentiments on a variety of October Afternoon patterned papers and then hand cut them to make flags and a double ended pennant. The flags were made with wood toothpicks and tucked into this cute 'seed packet' created with a Papertrey Ink die.

I was so excited that I had this recipe background paper, it's perfect for baking up some delicious birthday cupcakes! ;)

Here's the set I created today's card with. Aren't they adorable? To see more inspiring projects, visit the Precious Remembrance Shop on Facebook or on their blog.

I hope you enjoy a wonderful Easter holiday tomorrow!

Happy Birthday

Hello!

I hope you are enjoying the weekend. I spent a little time in the craft room yesterday playing with scraps and tidbits and came up with this birthday card.

All the papers are from my scrap bin and the rosette and phrase ticket were left over from previous projects. I think it's fun to throw a bit of this and that together and see what I can come up with.

I used three Papertrey Ink (PTI) dies...can you spot them all?

The rosette was made with a die from Tim Holtz, the brad on the butterfly is old Basic Grey, the
'fun' card is from Simple Stories, and the circle was created with a Spellbinders die. There's also a couple wood buttons, brand new from Dear Lizzy, and a mini paper clip from Tim Holtz.

Were you able to pick out the PTI dies? The butterfly, birthday ticket and double sided pennant are PTI, along with the jute.

Well, I've got a Bella Blvd. card in progress so I'm going to go finish that. I have some fun new projects to share with you throughout next week so I hope you can come visit!

Thank You Thursday and Giveaways

This is the second post today so scroll down to the next to view my Bella Blvd. cards. There's one with a cool Silhouette die that I'd love for you to see!

Recently Ella Publishing asked us Doodlebug design team gals to participate in 'Thank You Thursday' where we lifted one of the thank you cards in their new '31 Thank You Cards book.'

Here's the card I created.

This is the gorgeous card I lifted from page 21! I fell in love with this pocket design!

I used a Doodlebug Create-A-Card for my project along with one of their adorable Doodle Pops.

I thought it would be fun to jazz up the envelope a bit with a phrase I created with some Papertrey Ink letter dies.

Would you like to win a copy of '31 Thank You Cards' by Ella Publishing?

Or would you like to win some Doodlebug Goodies?

Three copies of  book is up for grabs in addition to the Doodlebug product you see above! Cool, huh? To find out how you can win, hop over to the Doodlebug Blog.

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday

Hello ladies!

I don't think there are any guys who read my blog except the hubs, right?

Well it's Monday, nothing we can do but make the best of it, right? A little crafty share from me to you is my way of brightening Monday up a bit. :)

This is a combination Doodlebug Design/Silhouette card. Isn't this die cut cool?

As usual I've added some hand stitching. I think a lot of people shy away from hand stitching because it's time consuming, but it doesn't have to be if you add just a little here and there.

Oh how I wish this cupcake were real!!! And zero calories too! I don't want much do I? ;)

All products are Doodlebug Designs except the white card stock and die cuts. The die I used for the sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

If you are interested in learning more about my hand stitching techniques, I will have a tutorial posted here and at the Doodlebug Design blog tomorrow.

Tomorrow is also the first day of Spring and I couldn't be happier! It's my favortie season! How about you, what's your favorite season? I'm really enjoying the warm weather we've been having! It's supposed to be in the mid 70s all week. You can't get any better than that! I hope spring has arrived where you are and that you enjoy it!

Kathy :)
