Thankful

I took a stroll through Doodlebug memory lane the other day when I broke out the Happy Harvest collection from last fall. Isn't it colorful and fun and that squirrel with the acorn...too stinkin' cute!?!?!

I have so much to be thankful for! I could write long long lists! There's not a day that goes by that I don't appreciate every little thing...from a healthy breakfast in the morning all the way through to the end of the day when I get to curl up in a nice warm bed and my family is healthy and safe!

Thankful for Home

Ahhhh...home sweet home! There's no better place I'd rather be than with my family! I created this whimsical greeting with another paper collection I came across while cleaning the office. Do you recognize it? It's Doodlebug's Happy Harvest collection from last fall.

It's been fun playing with these older lines I have stashed away...getting a little more use of them before I donate them to friends and family.

My parade of Valentine craft project continues today with this mini mailbox of love notes created with Doodlebug's Lovebirds collection. This project I made last year appears in this months issue of Paper Crafts and Scrapbooking.

My favorite item in the line were these mini die cut envelopes and notes.

I wish I had more of them to craft with this year. Aren't they darling?

I used Doodlebug's mini 3"x3" Create-A-Cards for the bases.

Lovebirds is full of these adorable little blue birds.

This was a super fun project to make! And now it's a funValentine decor item for us to enjoy each year.

Here's the issue you'll find my little mailbox in along with an amazing assortment of cards and scrapbook projects from your favorite paper artists.

Love is in the Air

Hello! Christopher went back to school today and Dan returned to work. That means it's time for me to get back into my craft room and start whipping up some Valentine projects for you such as this card I created with Doodlebug Design's adorable new Sweetheart collection.

I'm smitten over the Kraft added to this line and the glittery chevron card stock! To create the 'love' sentiment and that sweet dotted heart, I used some Papertrey Ink dies.

As I mentioned in my last post, I'll be giving Project Life a try this year so I'll be sharing those pages with you, along with all the new CHA lines from Bella Blvd and Pebbles.

During the holidays I started a cross stitch project and finished a crochet scarf. I hope to mix things up a bit and add some of those projects to my blog posts too. It's going to be a creative year! I hope you will join me!

Hello 2014

2014 is on it's way and to help my hubs keep track of the new year, I made this CD case desk calendar.

I had this CD case left over from another project and the small calendar pages are from Papertrey Ink.

I couldn't think of a better paper collection to use for a calender than Doodlebug's Day to Day line?

Day to Day includes so many different icons from typewriters and eye glasses to neck ties and coffee!

I opted for mustaches and arrows...the arrows being a great symbol for time marching on! What do you think? It was pretty quick and easy too! You gotta like that!

Happy New Year!

Baking Time!

Guess what I'm going to be doing much of the day? Baking! Baking! Baking! First, I'm going to run to the store and clean them out of sugar, chocolate and pecans...then the baking will commence!

These are the goody boxes I made last year...

...snow balls, fudge, peanut brittle and pecan thumbprints, oh my! My neighbors love me! ;)

To preserve these sweet memories I put together this scrapbook page with Doodlebug's Home for the Holidays collection along with a handful of snowflake die cuts.

This year I plan on making the pecan (snow) balls again, sugar cookies and something new, lace cookies, a recipe I discovered on Pinterest.

Tomorrow we have family visiting so I'll be baking for them too.

Ahhhh....it's the most wonderful sugar-filled time of year!

Goodbyes are Difficult

It is with a heavy heart this morning that I write this post. Doodlebug Design has posted the names of their 2014 design team and unfortunately I'm not on it. Creating for Doodlebug for the past couple years has been great fun and an honor and I will really miss it!

I thought I'd take this moment to show you a couple extra projects I've made recently and haven't shared yet.

This card was created with the festive Home for the Holidays collection.

This design was made with the Happy Harvest line.

I'd like to Congratulate all the talented ladies on the new 2014 team! I look forward to following you along and seeing the fun Doodlebug creations you inspire all of us with!

Thanks for an amazing couple of years, Doodlebug! :)

75 Degrees in December?

Would you believe Christopher left for school wearing shorts? In December? Might not be too unusual if we lived in Arizona, Southern California, Florida or Texas, but we live in North Carolina where it's been pretty darn cold lately! So...I'm going to enjoy every moment of it before Mother Nature returns us to our regularly scheduled winter weather!

For something a little more December-like, here's a Christmas card I created with Doodlebug Design's Home for the Holidays collection.

Lots of yummy little details went into this project...vellum snowflakes, holiday print washi, rhinestones, sequins, enamel dots and baker's twine, oh my! Makes for a pretty festive card, don't you think?

T.G.I.F!
