Bella Blvd. Monday Morning Challenge

It's a gorgeous Monday morning here in North Carolina! The sun is shining bright and the leaves are stunningly beautiful! All this makes me feel pretty cheerful!

Another thing that floats my boat are crafty challenges like the Monday Morning challenge over on the Bella Blvd. blog today. We were asked to create projects with big sentiments or titles and here's what I came up with.

I wish I had a stuffed version of this turkey...I love his great big and colorful patterned feathers! I used the whimsical Thankful Alpha+Bits font for this card...big and bold!

For my second card I used Bella Blvd's Sienna chip and High Five alphabets for the sentiment.

When using larger alphas on smaller projects, like cards, you can either stick to shorter words or break up the word with different size fonts as I did with this Thankful card. There's my favorite turkey again! He's part of Bella Blvd's Thankful collection.

Speaking of turkeys...I have a number of them to put on display before the Christmas decor floods the house! I can't believe it's already the fourth!

Hope you have a lovely fall day! :)

I Smell Chocolate!

Oh how I love chocolate and Christmas and seeing my work published! Available now is the Winter 2013 issue of CardMaker where you will find my Naughty or Nice gift set created with Doodlebug Design's North Pole collection.

This line includes everything festive and colorful...just add chocolate to sweeten the deal!

While perusing the pages of this latest issue, you will also find a card of mine in the 'Talk Turkey' section...created with the cutest turkey of all from Bella Blvd's Thankful collection. It's seriously one handsome bird!

Well, I hope you have a great day! And I hope Christopher enjoys his 7th grade school trip to the zoo! Do you think he'll see a turkey? Or consume some chocolate? Well, I packed a handful of dark chocolate covered raisins in his lunch! ;)

There's No Place Like Home

Hello!

It's cold and rainy in our neck of the woods today, perfect weather for spending time in the craft room! Before I get to playing, I thought I'd share a card with you that I made recently for a pub call...one that didn't get picked up. Two other projects did so I'm excited about that.

I used Bella Blvd's Thankful collection....a favorite of mine. I especially adore the blue "turkey tracks" paper!

So what's on your agenda this weekend? I plan to spend some time in the kitchen making a pot of vegetable soup and another batch of Pecan Balls....we haven't had our share of them yet! ;)

Thanks for visiting. Enjoy your weekend!

Cards on Thursday & Giveaway Winner

Happy Thursday!

Just one week away from Thanksgiving! I suppose I ought to get serious about preparations for our feast. Um....yea! ;) Although, I usually stick to the tried and true favorite recipes year after year so it shouldn't be too difficult to finalize. How about you? Are you ready? Will you be spending Thanksgiving away from home?

Well, Today is Cards on Thursday at Bella Blvd. Oh happy day! I love seeing what my teammates have created! I've mentioned that before, haven't I? ;) Well, they are the best! We are all using Unity/Bella Blvd. stamps for our cards today and with the big day just a week away, I opted for a 'Thankful' card.

I also thought I'd mix it up a bit and toss in a Designer Tape card. I used these lovely tapes for my stamped sentiments. I used Staz-On ink so it wouldn't smudge.

Looking at this card makes me crave cupcakes! :) Oh, I just had a thought.....I could bake my favorite Pumpkin Cupcakes with Maple Frosting from Ina Garten on Thanksgiving! Oh they are soooooooo goooooood!

Just look at that little piece of heaven!!! ;)

Okay, before I run, I have a winner to announce for the August issue of CARDS magazine. Thank you to all who visited yesterday and left comments! The winner is..........Leanne Allinson. Congratulations Leanne!

Hope you all have a great day! The weekend is just around the corner! ;)

Bella Blvd. Cards on Thursday

Hello!

We have a sunny day on tap for us here in North Carolina and when I wake to a bright and beautiful morning I feel so much more cheerful and energetic. How about you? Perhaps if we need to move one day we should consider Arizona or Florida? ;) Any readers from those states?

Today is Cards on Thursday over at the Bella Blvd. blog. I'm really looking forward to seeing what my talented teammates created!

I was in the mood to play with the Thankful collection.

The background die cut is from Silhouette. I really like the way the design is shaped like the little roof tops.

If you have to have some clouds, make them chevron striped! They're prettier than plain old gray, right? ;)

I always need plenty of thank cards this time of year.

Darling little houses in this collection, don't you think? And just so color-fall too!

So, what's on your agenda today? Will you have a little creative time? I try and do something creative everyday. Sometimes that means trying out a new recipe. Well, whatever you do today, I hope it's a good one and I thank you for spending a tiny bit of it with me!

Birds of a Feather and Bella Blvd.

Hi!

Did you have a good Halloween? We carved our pumpkin, roasted seeds and ate plenty of sweets! ;)

Today's a good day to visit my blog because I have a lot of crafty goodies to share with you! If you didn't see my announcement a couple weeks ago, I'm guest designing this month for the lovely Birds of a Feather kit club and today I have my first two projects to reveal.

Each year in October my hubby and I take a day off and go to the North Carolina State Fair together. It's a fun day for the two of us to leisurely take in all the sights and eat lots of yummy foods. Our first stop is always to pick up a glass of fresh pressed apple cider.

November's Birds of a Feather kit was perfect for documenting our day.

All the apple images and harvest phrases worked seamlessly.

I love all the rich autumn hues and pretty paper patterns in this kit!

I had a lot of fun with the stickers, layering them and grouping them together.

Another kit favorite is the sheet of bingo cards.

A little zigzag stitching here and there completed the rustic and homemade feel.

This page was a lot of fun....can you tell. Lots to play with and I spent a good deal of time arranging and re-arranging until I got things just the way I wanted.

Next up is a card. You know me and my cards! I love to make them!

I  used another bingo card as the focal point.

This wreath is so pretty, don't you think?

And the birds are so adorable!!!!

So what do you think of this Birds of a Feather kit? There's actually a whole lot more to it than I was able to pack into these first two projects so I'm happy that I'll have two more posts to share more of it with you. To see the entire kit and more projects, visit the Birds of a Feather site and blog.

If that wasn't enough autumn goodness for you, I have a couple of Cards on Thursday projects for you using the adorable Thankful collection from Bella Blvd.

I really enjoyed re-visiting this collection! You may remember that I made a lot of projects with this line for summer CHA?

Be sure and hop over to the Bella Blvd. blog for my Cards on Thursday! My teammates always create amazing projects!

Thanks so much for your visit today! I hope you enjoyed all my creations! I better go get busy making more! After posting so many here today, I need to replenish! ;)
