Hi! How are you? Glad you have a moment to stop in!
I have a few shares for you! I've gotten to do a bit of second hand shopping lately and thought I'd show you some of my finds. Then I have a scrapbook page.
Those of you who shop second hand stores know it's hit or miss. The last two visits to my local stores were unsuccessful. I didn't find anything. Then last Wednesday when I went with a girlfriend to a couple stores near her house, I found a few lovely things.
I got this Royal Albert tea cup and saucer for just $4. Upon researching Royal Albert patterns and the emblems stamped on the bottom of their cups, I discovered this patterned is quite rare from the 1920s and 30s! Such a pretty little cup!
This bowl was $3. It has a silver plated rim. It had a sticker on it that said it was crystal, but I think it's really glass. After washing and shining it up, it looks quite pretty. I found the word 'England' on the rim when I was polishing it.
My last goody is this mirror! It's a heavy thing! Priced at $17.89 with a sticker on the back that says Union Made. I'm not sure what that means. I started doing a little research on it, but haven't discover anything yet. Anyway, looks like the frame was gold and then painted white. I love the shabby chic look it has! I'm looking for the perfect place in the house to hang it. In our downstairs half bath, we have an oval mirror this size without a frame that we could replace with this one?
Now for my 'Home Decor' scrapbook page...
You might have seen this decorating project posted on my blog the beginning of January? Here's a hybrid scrapbook page for the project. I used a fabulous digital kit from Two Peas in a Bucket called 'I Believe' by Edeline Marta. I am smitten for the lovely soft color palette!
I added hand stitching, Thickers chipboard alphas, felt flowers that I made with a Quickutz die.
The brads I used as flower centers are Basic Grey...from my stash. I always love when I finally find a use for some supplies I've had around for awhile! Lately, I've used a ton of Kraft card stock. It works well with just about any theme and set of patterned papers!
I also used my tried and true border punches , old die cuts, a circle punch and an embossing template. I don't mind spending money on tools I get a lot of use from!
I hope you enjoyed your visit here and my post. I sure do enjoy your blogs when I have a chance to come browse. I sure get inspired and it always gets me motivated! Hope you enjoy your day! :) Kathy

What a beautiful page!
You found some really neat items. The mirror I think, is just gorgeous.
Same as you, I like the distressed style.
Regarding your scrapbook pages I only can say "Thumb up!"
Thanks for sharing your fun finds, Kathy! I especially love the teacup and saucer.....something hardly anybody uses anymore, and therefore all the more precious! I can't tell you how many of thes I have at home, in all different patterns - what is it about dishes that is so appealing?
Great finds! I want that tea cup and saucer. I have lots of great friends for it. ;)
I need not go shopping with you..I would be broke. I have a soft spot for antiques.
