Twirly Girl

It's feeling like a Twirly Girl kind of day!  Chickaniddy's Twirly Girl collection that is. I created this girly birthday card with the line and I'm tickled with the results. I love that vintage style mom with cake sticker along with the calendar piece that allows you to personalize the card.

I think the Twirly Girl colors looks fantastic with Kraft stock too. You know what else I like about this card? The mini wood clothespin! I was out of those little suckers and for a couple projects so I turned my office upside down trying to find a stray one....or one I could easily steal from another project without ruining it! Desperate times call for desperate measures, you know? ;) Thankfully I found a pack when I was at the craft store buying yarn recently. Ahhhh...more mini clothespins. Happy dance!

Before I head out...have you herd of the Curtain Call? It's a challenge site for card makers and one of my friends from the card making world asked me to join them for their July 1 - Birthday Bash inspiration challenge. Click here to play along.

Hope yours is a happy twirly girl kind of day!

Birthday Card and a Hiding Cat

I dug out an oldie but goody paper collection...Bella Blvd's Birthday Girl and made this card to share with you today. With all the bright colors it's perfect for celebrating a spring birthday, don't you think?

Ahhh....I never get tired of playing with paper!

Around here the cats are hiding because there's a plumber here to do some upgrades to our toilets. Did you know that parts should be replaced about every ten years because they wear and can cause water waste? Who knew!

So, I wonder where Latte is hiding? :) Funny boy thinks he's well hidden under the dresser!

T.G.I.F!

I have two cards to share with you all this fine Friday. Both from Bella Blvd. collections, one for birthday and the other for love.

When I create a card design that I particularly like, I sometimes re-create it at a later date using a different theme. Last year I made the Thanksgiving card below and thought it would also make a festive birthday greeting using Birthday Girl. What do you think?

My next card was created with Bella Blvd's Love and Marriage line. I think any day is the perfect time to express your love for someone special. :)

One of my favorite Bella Blvd. accents are the Crochet Hearts as I've used here. They come in ten gorgeous colors and add fabulous texture to projects!

Well, I hope you have a wonderful weekend. I'm off to the grocery store this morning, but I have a play date scheduled in my craft room this afternoon. I'm looking forward to an iced latte and playing with paper and glue!

Crafting with Bella Blvd.

Continuing on with my exercise to play and experiment without worry of assignments or deadlines, I pulled out more thin metal dies and one of my favorite Bella Blvd. collections, Birthday Girl, to create this card.

My goal, besides having fun, is to try new dies and to mix and match a combination of elements I might not have thought of before. I used a pennant, notebook paper and circles frame die all from My Favorite Things. So, what do you think? Do you like? Is it too busy for your taste? Do you have a favorite part?

All the new Bella Blvd. collections just released at CHA arrive at my doorstep tomorrow, if the UPS man doesn't get a flat on the way! ;) It's been really hard to see all the fun new products floating around the web and not having them in hand to play with! Tomorrow that all changes and I look forward to making a lot of fun new projects for you! :)

Thanks for visiting! Have a super day!

Cards on Thursday

Hello!

Getting back to my regularly scheduled Cards on Thursday with Bella Blvd. I have a couple Kiss Me collection creations to share with you today.

Aren't these ice cream cones adorable and yummy? I've been looking forward to using them on a birthday card. How about a Valentine card too?

The Kiss Me line is perfect for mushy, lovey cards! ;) I'm lovin' these colors!

Can you believe we only have a few days left in the year? Do you have any plans for New Year's Eve? We're a bunch of homebodies at the Martin house and enjoy spending the evening in. A couple cocktails with hubs in front of the tree is sounding pretty tempting about now! ;)

Thanks for your visit. Have a wonderful day!

Saturday Creations - Precious Remembrance Shop

Today is another Saturday Creations post for the Precious Remembrance Shop! Can you believe this is my sixth installment? Time flies when you're having fun, right? And I really had a lot of fun with today's project and the Birthday Stamp Set!

The colorful background I created for my stamped image is something I've seen around for a while but didn't know how it was achieved until last week when Julie Ebersole so kindly explained her technique.

All you do is apply some ink directly from a stamp pad or re-inker to an acrylic stamp block. Then using a Zig H2O water brush, dip your brush into the ink and swish it around on your paper just like using water colors. Easy peasy, right?

This is the adorable Birthday Stamp Set that I used. Love, love, love that balloon! And all the fun sentiments to go with it!

To see more creative Precious Remembrance Shop projects, visit them on Facebook or their blog.

Hope all your mamas out there have a lovely Mother's Day!

Crafty Weekend

As I mentioned last week there were a lot of cool new digital kits released at Two Peas in a Bucket so I had a lot of fun this weekend playing with them! For you that means some crafty projects to enjoy!

Do you know anyone with a birthday this month? Next month? If you're in need of a birthday card idea, here's one I created.

I adore this Mod Moths digital kit by Holly Brooke Jones! These colors are so spring like and cheerful, perfect for a birthday card! I can imagine some pretty great springtime scrapbook pages using these papers too!

Or maybe you need to make a thank you card for your child's teacher? Pretty soon we'll be celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week at my son's school so I made this hybrid card for the occasion.

Jen Martakis of Two Peas created an awesome new digital kit called Notebook Basics that includes a variety of lined and graph papers. I use these types of papers for so many projects!

Not only did I make a few cards this weekend, but I also created a scrapbook page. I'm keeping my New Year's goal in mind; to not forget the family memory album!

This hybrid page was created with a fun and hip new digital kit called txt me by Stacy Marks of Two Peas in a Bucket. I really enjoyed playing with this kit! The papers and accents are too fun. I printed everything out on Kraft paper and love the look. I usually scrap 12x12 pages, but I have an album just for me called 'pieces of me' that this page will go in.

I hope you're enjoying my crafty shares because I have one more to show you. Did you forget that it's a 2 Sketches 4 You Monday? I love designing for 2S4Y! It's always so fun to create cards from the sketches Kazan and Laura come out with each week. And then I get to browse your creations all week! So, here's a another fabulous Sketch. This week's awesome design is from Laura.

And here's what I did with Laura's sketch.

Isn't the stamped image darling? It's from Infinimentscrap. It had heart shaped leaves on the tree and I replaced them with mini heart shape punches from my Fiskars hand punch.

Whew, four crafty shares is a long post! Thanks for joining me today and taking a look at all my projects! I'll have some more for you on Wednesday.
