Valentine Tags

I hope you have been enjoying my crafty paper heart-a-palooza this week because I have another for today. These little tags are messages of love that can be tucked inside a lunch box or hidden under a pillow.

You can make similar tags for classroom Valentines. Make them more masculine for boys. Add a little lolly and you've got some pretty sweet Valentine's.

Be Mine

Today I have another Valentine project to share with you that I created using more of the paper hearts I die cut last week.

These hearts were combined to make pretty little flowers.

They're really easy to make! Simply die cut six hearts in two sizes and two colors of card stock.

Add a small Journey Foam Square to the center of each of the larger hearts and a dab of Journey Craft Glue at the point.

Top your larger heart with the smaller one and use a Mini Wooden Clothespin to hold them together until dry. Once all hearts are dry, arrange three together, apply a dab of hot glue and top with a Media Flower.

Once my three flowers created I spritzed them all with a little Journey Silver Splash and attached a few sequins.

Finally the heart flowers were attached to the Journey Advent Box with another dab of hot glue. Then I added the ribbon and tag to finish the project.

Paper Heart Garland

Hello sweeties! Did you catch my Facebook or Instagram post last week about making paper hearts for Valentine crafting? Well...some of those little hearts I made were used to make this fun little garland.

Ooh la la, I love these traditional Valentine colors, how about you?

This garland is the perfect length to span a 12 x 12 scrapbook page. Use a length of three hearts for an A2 size greeting card. Or use these adorable hearts as a cake topper! You can decorate the house with a few of these placed about or add one to your child's lunchbox! There's so many fun things you can do with a little string of paper hearts!

Be Mine

I've been crafting up a Valentine storm lately! I've posted a few of these projects so far, but most will be shared in the weeks to come and most were created with Valentine themed paper collections, but what if you don't have one?

Any brightly colored fun patterned papers will make beautiful hearts...so dust off those punches, grab some thin metal dies or plug in your digital cutter and get going!

For my Be Mine card I used Bella Blvd's Play Date line with a set of heart shaped nesting dies from My Favorite Things.

Have you seen all the white embossed vellum lately? I love the look, but I don't have embossing supplies so I used some alpha stickers instead.

Ooh la la...I'm in love with hearts right now! And vellum! And crafting Valentine projects! And crocheting!

Speaking of crocheting...in this post I talked about teaching myself to crochet with the help of on-line tutorials. Well, this weekend I learned a little more...

...I crocheted my very first granny square following this tutorial.

Perfect for Valentine's Day, I made my first heart using this tutorial. It's part of a bunting project...wouldn't a bunch of these hearts look adorable strung together? Anyway, the tutorial is taught using a smaller gauge yarn and smaller hook than I did here, but going bigger is great for beginners and practicing.

Hope you have a lovely week!
