Just for Fun

Skates remind me of childhood! I joke that I was born with skates on my feet because I wore them constantly growing up. I'm surprised I didn't sleep in them! ;) 

I created this card just for fun, just to play and use some left over My Girl supplies from My Mind's Eye.

Good day!

It's been a crazy morning at our house! A morning where nothing seems to go as planned starting with the alarm clock not working. Then Christopher's school bus never arrived and our out-of-town guest had to leave in the middle of it all! Whew! Hopefully the rest of the day will run a bit smoother. :)

So, let's take a deep breath and smile, shall we? ;)

Cards on Thursday

It's a Bella Blvd. Cards on Thursday kind of day! And a bright and sunny day too! I'm lovin' it and I've been dying to show off my first couple cards using newly released CHA product from Bella Blvd!

This first card was created with the Love and Marriage collection and one of the gorgeous new Feathers. What do you think of this line? Ooh la la, right?!?! 

This card was created with the new Engaged at Last collection. And another yummy feather! What do you think of the new feathers? If you enjoy texture and dimension, they are a must have!

All Occasion

Hello!

Thought I'd start the week off with one of my favorite types of cards, all occasion. I keep plenty of these on hand. :)

Do you recognize that butterfly Polaroid? I made one like it for another card recently.

I hope you're not getting tired of my Polaroids and negative die cuts! It's funny how I fall into a particular trend or accent and repeat it over and over! ;)

I also make a lot of project with banners. Why knock a good thing, right? :)

I created this card with The Sweetest Thing collection from My Mind's Eye. I love the colors and patterns!

All Occasion Card

Hello! It's Tuesday! Hope it's a good day! :) Do you create all occasion cards, those without sentiments? I need to make more since they're perfect to keep on hand, available for any occasion that may pop up. Maybe you need a quick thank you, a sympathy card or just want to included a nice note with something?

This card was created with a mix of goodies that were begging to be used. ;) The chipboard flower, yellow and turquoise papers are from Echo Park's This & That collection. The background print is old My Mind's Eye paper and the Kraft card stock was stamped with VersaMark ink using a brand new Hampton Arts/Doodlebug stamp from the Sweet Backgrounds set.

I used several go-to tools, the cloud and butterfly die, corner rounder punch and scalloped border punch. These favorites get a lot of use! Whenever I'm considering a tool purchase, I ask myself, "How many projects do you think you can use this for?" Often the answer is not enough and so I don't purchase it, no matter how adorable it is! ;) I learned this lesson the hard way when I spent an entire week cleaning out and de-stashing my office. No more!

I really like how this mix of goodies turned out. I had a lot fun making a card just because.

Spreading some Love

Hi!

I have a lovey card share for you today. I wanted to use up the rest of the 'Love Me' line from My Mind's Eye.

Can you spot the boo boo I made on this card? Seems that my morning coffee hadn't quite kicked in when I assembled this card!

I used two Papertrey Ink die cuts for the heart and the double sided pennant that I cut in two. The brad is from Basic Grey.

Did you spot my mistake yet? The rosette was created with a Tim Holtz die cut, you know, the one I use all the time! ;) I topped the rosette with a pretty chipboard doily-ish and brad accent from the 'This & That' collection from Echo Park. Martha Steward is the manufacturer of the Kraft tag. Okay, the mistake I made was adhering my background paper upside down! I'm marking it up to artistic expression instead of lack of brain matter! ;)

Hi!

What a short and lovely weekend! Too short! Hubs and I enjoyed our alone time together and dinner out on Saturday night was excellent! The last time we went to dinner was last November! Seriously! We had grilled Caesar salads to start with. They cut the heart of Romain lettuce in half and grill the flat side real quick, for just a bit of flavor. It's the best Caesar salad I ever had! I had scallops with lemon grass risotto and Dan had lamb chops with brussel sprouts! Mmmm! The scallops are cooked to perfection! Seared on the outside and so soft inside! Risotto was out of this world! Dessert was to die for too! Dan had creme brulee and I had carrot cake...oh how I love carrot cake and when it's made at a fancy shmancy restaurant, you close your eyes and savor all the mingling flavors of cinnamon, raisins and cream cheese frosting! I really must stop now before I drive you and me both insane! ;)

Shall we talk crafts now? I broke down and ordered just a few goodies from Two Peas in a Bucket that included a 6x6 pad of My Mind's Eye paper called Follow Your Heart, one of the Echo Park This & That collections and an assortment of buttons and brads. I had a chance to play with some and created this card.

Oh how pretty these papers are! I love the soft colors along with the diagonal stripes and polka dot combination! The pretty wood button is from Prima Marketing.

I'm still on the tag kick! And letter dies which are from Papertrey Ink. Now I want the capital letters and numbers. I know they would get a ton of use since I can't get enough of this lowercase set!

Here's an even closer look at my layered goodies...vintage buttons, butterfly, ticket stub, paper pennants.

I've been doing a lot of playing around in between DT assignments resulting in some interesting cards...some that I really like....like this one. I love how it all came together!

More Valentine Goodness!

Hello!

So how did your Valentine's Day go? It was a lovely day here! If you stopped by yesterday, you may have read that my hubs took the day off so we could spend our Valentine's Day together. We had a grand time! We didn't go out to eat or do anything special, we just hung out together and that's heavenly to me! I had planned to make my boys some chocolate chip cookies for a Valentine treat, so hubs hung out with me in the kitchen. In addition to cookies, we filled the crock pot with ingredients to make Teriyaki Chicken for dinner and made a pot of Lentil and Sausage Soup for lunch.

The house sure did smell good with all the cooking and baking we did. And the cookies...Dan said they were my best batch to date! For the past year + I've been doing a lot of cooking and baking and I'm finally getting the baking part down!

Anyway, in honor of Valentine's week, I made a bunch of cards that I've been sharing with you this week. Have you enjoyed them so far? Here are another couple...

I've been into rosettes lately! They're great fun and as I've mentioned before, I love dimension!

The patterned papers are from the Love Me collection from My Mind's Eye. Except for the lined paper which is old Scenic Route. I bought a lot of it because it goes with everything!

The die cuts I used for the little piece of notebook paper and the reverse sentiment alphas are from Papertrey Ink.

I also tossed in a bit of wahsi tape. Oh, and there's a button...always a button or two. Or three! ;)

For my next card, I also used the Love Me line.

For this card, I created a little pocket to fill with some Valentine goodness.

A bingo card, Jack of hearts, hugs and kisses ticket, another piece of notebook paper...lovely little tokens of love.

I topped the little pocket with another fabulous rosette and what else? Buttons!

Hearts a plenty to go around! Fun, fun, fun! That's what I had making these Valentines! I hope you enjoyed them!

Sweet Boy

Hello!

I'm writing this post on Sunday morning as we're packing up and getting ready to head out for the beach. We'll be there just a few days, unwinding and relaxing and eating fresh hot donuts before we get back into school mode. Anyway, I thought I'd prepare a couple posts to load when we're gone.

I have a really fun scrapbook page share of our sweet lovable boy Latte.

This photo was taken by Patty Kumfer during our recent family photo shoot. I'm so happy that I had the opportunity to grab our sweetie for a couple photos...we love him and his brother Java so much...they really make our house and home and complete our family!

Latte is such a big fluffy baby with the most gorgeous green eyes!

For this page it looks like I used a whole bunch of patterned papers, but I only used one that was made up of strips. This is an older paper from My Mind's Eye, one from their Quite Contrary collection.

Would you believe this is the first time I've used one of those sparkly spray mists? I think I might be a little resistant to change or trying something that could get a bit messy! ;) Anyway, I used the Silhouette to cut out my title letters and used a little double stick tape under each letter to adhere it to my page before spraying it. Then I removed the letters and stitched around them.

I had just a few little pieces of this of patterned paper left to make some embellishments that I punched out and then stitched around.

I really enjoyed using the Glimmer Mist, even though it curls up the paper quite a bit. But then I realized that made for great texture!
