Hello

Today I have a card for those of you who adore flowers and butterflies. It's a clean and simple creation using a negative die cut butterfly as the focal point.

The Fun Stampers Journey die set I used is from Butterfly Prints and the patterned paper is from the summer catalog and it's called Fun Filled Prints.

To make these layers really stand out I used foam squares to adhere them to my card base. I love the dimension it creates and that you can see some of the gingham print through the butterfly 'window.'

A few drops of silk, some thread and a trio of assorted gems finish the card. It's the perfect for an all occasion greeting!

Enjoy!

CardMaker 2015 Calendar

Swimming in a sea of political ads I found the all new CardMaker 2015 Calendar in my mailbox over the weekend. 'Twas quite lovely to see my Hello card as the February/Valentine's Day project!

Included in the calendar are step-by-step instructions to create each month's project. Also included is a single page for the months of 2016! Gotta love something that's made to last longer! :)

What's New Wednesday

Wow, we've made it to Wednesday already and I have a couple Bella Blvd. cards to share with you for this week's What's New Wednesday post.

Oh my my, the Hello Autumn collection is awesome with its rich fall color pallet and beautiful leafy prints! I got just a little carried away with this card adding this and adding that. I love mixing lots of elements and colors and to do this without the card looking too busy I make sure the colors contrast instead of blend. It makes each piece of the card stand out. The hearts for example look like three different pieces. If I hadn't used contrasting colors they might seem like a single layer or piece.

Creating with Bella Blvd’s Tiny Tots collection makes me so happy! Seriously adorable animals, alphabet soup, and bright eye catching colors make this line so fun to play with! And I had a lot of fun creating this card for you! How can one not smile looking at this happy frog and cuddly lion? Although I no longer have a tot in the house, but I can always use a collection like this to make kid cards for nieces, nephews, etc!

Monday Morning Challenge

Hello! It's another Monday and Bella Blvd. is challenging its designers and you to create a project using six of the border cut pieces! This can be quite a challenge to fit all six strips on an A2 size card, but here's what I came up with.

For this first card, I simply found six borders printed together from the Molly collection that I thought would make the perfect background for a girly girl kind of card. Flowers, cameras, polka dots, cupcakes, peace signs and stars make a super cool background, don't you think?

Next up...I got a little more creative this time around and used pennant and circle dies to cut out words and icons from the borders strips of the Classic Calendars collection for this 'love' card.

Whatever the day, month or season, love endures!

Use it Up, Wear it Out

As a paper crafter who makes a lot of cards, scrapbook pages and decor items, I end up with a whole lot of scraps! It was time to utilize some of those pretty papers and this is what I came up with.

This pretty star paper was from the My Girl collection by My Mind's Eye. I used a few dies to make the stars, sentiment and tag. Then I layered all the dies together and topped them a mini clothespin and jute bow.  Like yesterday's card post, I tried to keep it clean and simple and stopped myself from adding more accents. Not easy! ;)

Hello Spring

It's the day I've been longing for all winter long...spring! My favorite season! After several days of cold, clouds and ice, the sun is shining brightly and temperatures are expected to reach about 65 degrees! Hello spring! I've missed you so!

To welcome in the new season I created this tweet little birdie card with Pebbles' new Special Delivery collection. These adorable birds remind me of the symphony of chirping I wake to each morning. FYI...this collection is 21% off today on Amazon! :)

We have a couple resident Carolina Wrens living in a nest outside our kitchen window and we're looking forward to watching them raising a new clutch this spring. Here's a picture from last year. They're so sweet!

Happy Spring!

Hello

Top of the week to you! I'm glad you're here because I have an amazing new Top Dog Dies set to share with you called Sew Much Fun Die Set that includes nine sewing themed dies that are sew cute!

For this 'hello' card, I used six of the dies, one of which is my absolute favorite...the scissors! It's a two piece set that you assemble with a brad or tiny eyelet as I did here. How fantastic is that?!?!

I love the embossed detailing on the buttons and the thimble! Makes them look so realistic!

This next card included the dress-form die that I cut twice to create a 'dress' for the form.

The little buttons make perfect 'o's, don't they?  What do you think of this set? I think I'll be using it sew much! ;)

By the way, the pretty papers I used for these projects are from Bella Blvd. The first card features paper from the Love and Marriage collection and the floral paper used on the second card is from Snapshots

Hope you all have a great start to your week!

Thanks for visiting! :)

Hello!

Hello, hello, hello! It's Monday. How about we start the week off with a dose of creativity? I have two cards to share that I made with the lovely Front Porch collection from Pebbles.

One of my favorite patterned papers in the Front Porch line is the conversation bubbles! For my first card I used it for my background and for the second card I fussy cut some of the bubbles for the focal point. What do you think? Like? I think Front Porch is such a fabulously fun and versatile collection!

Hope you have a great Monday! Thanks for spending a bit of it with me! :)
