Published

This past spring I had my first scrapbook page published in Creating Keepsakes and it was so excited to go to Barnes and Noble and see it on the shelf! There he is, page 70, our big fluffy cat Latte! We joke that he needs an agent now! ;)

I created this page with the new Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm collection from American Crafts. I think the  papers work perfectly with all the colorful magazine covers in the background of the photo. I also included one of the same cat Silhouette cuts from the published page.

Well, summer CHA is right around the corner and I've seen a lot of awesome new collections I can't wait to show you...later this week! It'll be a lot of fun creating projects for you with all these new goodies! :)

Have a Terrific Tuesday!

Oreo

Last weekend I made a pit stop at Archivers and purchased some Lucky Charm papers from the latest Dear Lizzy collection.  I combined these whimsical and colorful papers with a new arrow die set from My Favorite Things resulting in this scrapbook page of our kitty Oreo.

This guy is a handful! He's so active and playful! He's currently in my office trying to get me to play fetch with one of his favorite mice! If I don't throw that mouse soon, he'll start to chew on my scrapbook supplies! Not good! A few of my latest paper craft projects have fallen victim to Oreo! I've always had lazy mellow cats in the past so this is a new beast for me! Do any of you have a rambunctious cat?

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Heart Sing

Hi! I created a card this morning. I love the spontaneity of a non-planned post/craft share...the freedom to just sit down and create with no assignment in mind. I think I do some of my best work that way.

I created this card with some American Crafts Dear Lizzy papers. I love the color palette and this phrase. I threw in a few wood hearts from Freckled Fawn and used some thin metal heart dies from My Favorite Things. What do you think? Like?

I hope you have a great day and can find some time to do a little playing too! :)

Happy Birthday

Hello!

I hope you are enjoying the weekend. I spent a little time in the craft room yesterday playing with scraps and tidbits and came up with this birthday card.

All the papers are from my scrap bin and the rosette and phrase ticket were left over from previous projects. I think it's fun to throw a bit of this and that together and see what I can come up with.

I used three Papertrey Ink (PTI) dies...can you spot them all?

The rosette was made with a die from Tim Holtz, the brad on the butterfly is old Basic Grey, the
'fun' card is from Simple Stories, and the circle was created with a Spellbinders die. There's also a couple wood buttons, brand new from Dear Lizzy, and a mini paper clip from Tim Holtz.

Were you able to pick out the PTI dies? The butterfly, birthday ticket and double sided pennant are PTI, along with the jute.

Well, I've got a Bella Blvd. card in progress so I'm going to go finish that. I have some fun new projects to share with you throughout next week so I hope you can come visit!

Happy Wednesday!

Its mid-week and time for another crafty blog share. When I closed on Monday, I promised I would share my Valentine page with you. My darling husband had brought home roses and mini cupcakes last Friday evening and left me a little Valentine message in Sunday's paper. He's a real keeper! I took photos since my flowers and cupcakes will not last long and created this page.

Guess what? I posted this page on Two Peas in a Bucket yesterday and it was picked for the featured project of the day! Woot woot! There's nothing like seeing your work recognized! And it's so cool that all the wonderful things my honey did made this the special page it is!

My next share is a baby card I made last weekend.

I'm amazed at the number of cards I've made using just a few pieces of patterned paper from the Letterbox line by American Crafts. The adorable little clothesline accent on my card is from American Crafts' newest Dear Lizzy collection. I love it!

Now I'd like tos share a  book with you that I picked up on Monday called 'The Lovely Bones.' I read the first paragraph and was hooked.

The first paraghraph reads, "My name was Salmon; like the fish, Susie. I was fourteen when I was murdered on December 6, 1973. In newspaper photos of missing girls from the seventies, most looked like me: white girls with mousy brown hair. This was before kids of all races and genders started appearing on milk cartons or in the daily mail. It was still back when people believed things like that didn't happen."

So that's a wrap for my Wednesday post! I've got a lot of crafting to do since a whole bunch of new digital kits came out at Two Peas in a Bucket yesterday and I'm going to make a lot of fun projects with them and will share them with you Friday! Probably some next Monday too!
