Bon Voyage & Giveaway

T.G.I.F!

I can't believe this is my last post as guest designer for Little Yellow Bicycle! Why do all good things have to come to and end? It's been a great deal of fun playing with the 'Escape' collection, having you visit each week and the weekly giveaways! I'm going to miss all this excitement!

For my last project I have a couple more cards.

How about a road trip in a bright red car that has the word 'adventure' across the side? Too cute!

I threw in some trendy hexagons and thought they would look fun stitched down the middle.

Isn't this city scene lovely? I'd love to take a stroll along it with the sun shining upon my face!

Paris Anyone?

If I had a ticket to Paris, I'd travel! ;)

How about you...have you been to Paris?

As you know from previous weeks, the folks at Little Yellow Bicycle were very generous with the product they sent for my guest design projects and I had a bunch left over. If you would like to win the goodies in the photo above, just comment between now and Sunday. A winner will be chosen at random and announced on my blog on Monday. Sound good? Go comment! ;)

Speaking of giveaways, I have a winner to announce for the CardMaker magazine from yesterday's post. That lucky winner is Ruth G! Congratulations Ruth! I've e-mailed you for your address!

Thanks for dropping in today!

Escape & Giveaway

Hello!

It's time again for another Little Yellow Bicycle post and giveaway! Great way to end the week, don't you think?

Today's page is about our visit to the Wright Brother's Memorial on the Outer Banks, North Carolina. Have you been?

I thought these brightly colored travel phrase stickers would make a great sign post.

Oh how I love these rosettes and flags! There's a lot to love about this collection! :)

I used a 'Decorative Edge Card Stock' sheet as a journaling spot.

The 'boarding pass' ticket stub is too perfect for an aviation page!

So, how about another giveaway? The generous folks at Little Yellow Bicycle gave me more product than I needed to complete my guest design projects so I'd like to share the rest with you.

To win this set of Escape goodies, just leave a comment from now through Sunday. Winner will be drawn at random and announced on Monday.

Thanks so much for your visit. I appreciate you! :)

Beach Getaway & Giveaway

Happy Saturday!

I'm back with my second guest design project for Little Yellow Bicycle! Each year my boys and I enjoy a few days of rest and relaxation at Carolina Beach and the new 'Escape' line is perfect for preserving these summertime memories!

I love the way the patterned papers and accents have a sun faded look!

How many times have you heard the phrase, "Are we there yet?" while traveling to your destination? Too many, right?!?! My husband actually thinks it's funny to say it as we're pulling out of our driveway! What a guy! ;)

Lovin' the camera patterned papers and the 3-D camera and car stickers!

Ah, I can't wait for our next annual beach trip...it's just a month away!

Do you have some special vacation photos you need to get into your scrapbooks? Would you like a chance to win a few 'Escape' goodies?

The generous people at Little Yellow Bicycle gave me more product than I needed for my guest design projects so I thought I'd share with you! Just leave a comment from now through Sunday, July 22nd and I'll randomly draw a winner to win the above prize package! That's it! Winner will be announced Monday morning.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Escape & Giveaway

T.G.I.F!

I've been keeping a crafty little secret that I'm so excited to finally share today! I was asked to guest design for Little Yellow Bicycle using their new Escape collection! How cool is that?!?! Starting today and for the next three weeks, I'll have some crafty projects to share with you! Shall we get started?

Look at all these amazing accents! I love the bright, happy colors! Aren't they're perfect for vacation and summer crafts?

Look at the flags! Don't you just love these flags?!?!

Planes, boarding passes and visa stamps, oh my! This line has it all!

This Fun-O-Meter is a favorite! Clever!

Oh, and rosettes! I love rosettes!

As usual, I like to take a themed collection and use it in a different way...like this birthday card.

Ooh la la...how fabulous is this collection!?! Would you like to win a little 'Escape' of your own?

Little Yellow Bicycle was so generous in sending me multiple packages of goodies so I thought I'd turn around and give you a chance to play with them too! Just leave a comment telling me what you like best about this line and I'll randomly choose a winner. Comments will be open through Sunday, July 15th and a winner will be announced on Monday, July 16th.

Thanks for your visit today! Be sure and return for my next Little Yellow Bicycle post, I'll have scrapbook page share and another set of accents to giveaway! :)

Just Playing

Hello!

Yesterday morning I was perusing blogs that I follow and got all excited to play in my craft room after visiting my friend Amy Heller's blog! Her 'Your Happiness is Oh So Sweet' scrapbook page is really amazing! I love the design, colors, use of scraps and stitching! A work of art!

This card is what I was inspired to create.

All the patterned papers I used came out of my scraps bin which include some digital designs, Little Yellow Bicycle and October Afternoon.

I have several sets of these fabulous vintage inspired cards from October Afternoon that I never seem to get around to so I used this one as inspiration for picking out my papers.

As you can see I'm a die cut girl! I used some Spellbinders dies to create the little frame around the nest and an old 2x2 Quckutz die for the sentiment tag. Love that little tiny tag! Oh, the sentiment is a Papertrey Ink stamp from their 'Tiny Tags' set.

I just recently bought this rolled roses die from My Favorite Things. I LOVE the beautiful flowers it makes with felt! I can tell this little die is going to get a ton of use!

There you have it...inspiration a la Amy! Thanks Amy! It sure was fun playing! Hope you all get a chance to play too! :) Kathy

Anyone for a Game of Truck Huck?

Hi!

What's truck huck you ask? Just one of the creative games our son dreams up! Playing truck huck requires no special skills, but to let loose and have a great time. And you mustn't care if your neighbors think you've lost your ever lovin' mind! ;) With that said, the next time there's a fresh fallen snow get out there with your child's Tonka truck and huck it into the air! Laugh like you've never seen anything funnier as it sails overhead! Be sure to not to hit anyone and watch where it lands as it could be buried without a trace until the snow melts away!

Here's a scrapbook page I created of our son playing truck huck. I love that my husband's photo captured the truck in mid air!

I used a trio of favorite patterned papers, Little Yellow Bicycle, Studio Calicoand
My Mind's Eye
. I think these papers worked perfectly with the photo.

I pulled out my stack of American Crafts Thickers and found two fonts/colors for the title. I also used a bunch of asterisks for the center of my die cut snowflakes.

The snowflakes were cut with the Silhouettedigital cutter and the circles were made with the Wizard die cutter and Spellbinders dies.

Hand stitching, border punches and a die cut circle for the journaling finish off this page.

Well, it's not snowing here in North Carolina today. The sun can't decide if its going to shine or not. It's threatening, but the clouds are trying their best to be the star of the day!  I'm routing for the sun to shine and give me energy! What's happening where you are? I've read many blog posts that talk about snow. Well, stay warm and enjoy this fine Friday! :) Kathy
