Digital Doodles in the News & Thanksgiving Decor

Hello! What's the weather like in your neck of the woods? Is is chilly? Does anyone have snow? We have a cloudy, drizzly day here in North Carolina. The perfect day to put on some music and do some crafting. Or  wouldn't it be fun to do some baking! I'm forever watching my weight and right now I need to loose about three pounds, so the baking will have to wait until next week! ;)

Anyway, I was excited to see the Digital Doodles Home Sweet Home stamp was in print over at Scrapstreet. The talented Amy Heller created this card a while back and it caught the eye of the folks at Scrapstreet.

Such a beautiful and creative card! Amy printed one of the houses from the image onto a real piece of wood! Very creative, isn't she? I love all the pieces of paper, stitching and buttons!

Just a reminder and in case you didn't see my Tuesday post, all Digital Doodles stamps are 25% off this week exclusively at Two Peas in a Bucket. Most stamps are just 74 cents!

I managed to take down the Halloween decorations and put up some Thanksgiving pretties over the past couple days. Would you like to see?

Here's the mantel with a leaf garland, a berry wreath, a pilgrim couple and so on. I love rich autumn colors!

This is the console table in the family room. It's fun to incorporate regular household items into holiday displays such as the pitcher that's usually in the kitchen and I placed a pumpkin in the bird cage. All you need to make your own Thanksgiving display are a few pumpkins, leaves, dried corn, and fruit.

This end table in the family room has a top shelf and one at the bottom. The top shelf is usually occupied by a box of tissue, nothing special, but the bottom is seen through the glass and makes it look pretty. These items, except for the leaf stems are everyday items too.

I how I enjoy these large glass blown pumpkins I purchased at Target a few years back! The back side of them is open to place candles in. You should see how beautiful they look at night with the soft glow of candle light! The mirrored tray was a recent purchase at one of my favorite antique stores. Just $20! I can use it year round for any holiday display!

Do you decorate for Thanksgiving. I used to decorate just for Christmas with the exception of a few pumpkins at Halloween and Thanksgiving. Maybe a bunny and some eggs at Easter. In recent years I've really gotten interested in dressing the house up for each season/holiday. It's a good time to move some things around and keep the house looking fresh and different.

I thank you once again for popping in to 'see' me. I'm looking forward to some blog hopping today so I can see what everyone else is up to. There's nothing like viewing all of your crafty projects to get me in the mood to do my own crafting. See ya soon! :)

Digital Doodles Tuesday & Giveaway

Today is a very special day! Not only is it a new release day here at Digital Doodles, but it's my darling husband's birthday! Happy Birthday Dan!

I'm not the best at creating masculine cards so I thought I'd try a little harder this year. I perused blogland for a little manly inspiration and came up with this card. I like the way it turned out and I love that I used my patterned paper scraps! My hubby loves maps so this old paper is perfect!

Now onto the new Digital Doodles release! It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas around here with this new 'Night Before Christmas' stamp set!

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care....you know the words! We've been uttering these phrases since childhood. What fabulous memories they invoke! And here is what the the design team and I came up with this week.

World Card Making Day

Wow, isn't it great that there's a World Card Making Day, a special day just for those of us who enjoy creating cards?!?! I think it's fabulous and in honor of the occasion, Vera Wirianta Yates, a design team member of Digital Doodles stamps, has organized the 'Caring Hearts Card Drive' for the elderly at nursing facilities! The purpose of this drive is to share our cards with the residents in nursing homes who often times feel lonely during the holidays. Vera is such generous and kind hearted person who decided just this week to start this drive. So, there are still details to be worked out, but that means we can all pitch in and help by either sending cards or sponsoring prizes to make this a successful event! I'm pleased to announce that Digital Doodles stamps will participate and donate stamp sets as prizes for this drive! Please hop over to Vera's blog by clicking here to find out how you can join!

I'll be back later today to show off some cards I'm making today for this event. I  hope you can join in and have a great World Card Making Day! Kathy :)

As promised I'm back this afternoon to show you a Thanksgiving card I made today for the Caring Hearts Card Drive. I created this card with a new digital kit called 'Feels Like Fall' from Jen Martakis of Two Peas in a Bucket. Such a cool little kit full of autumn accents and a lot of coordinating patterned papers.

I can't get enough of the fun crinkled seam binding, buttons and Nestabilities die cuts as you can tell from all the projects I've posted lately! I made two cards yesterday that I can't show just yet that uses all the above! They are my go-to items these days!

Well, I plan to squeeze in another card today for the Caring Heart Card Drive. I hope you can join me, but if you can't, the drive will be open until mid November. Get all the details on Vera's blog posted above. :) Kathy

A Second Helping of 'Thankful' and a GIVEAWAY

Who can sit down to Thanksgiving dinner and not dish up seconds? I can't! Thanksgiving comes but once a year and the turkey is so delicious and tender and the gravy is so savory that I can't resist a second helping! So we decided to give you a second helping of Digital Doodles 'Thankful' projects too! Just look what the design team and I have cooked up for you...

To give my white and red gingham ribbon an aged appearance, I just placed the ribbon over my Ranger Antique Linen stamp pad and swirled a tole brush over it.
