Wanderlust

I still have a pretty serious case of wanderlust that I just can't seem to shake! So I was drawn to create this card with map patterned paper and Reverse Confetti's Globe Confetti Cuts.

For the past seven years the hubs and I have had a vacation each summer while Christopher went to camp for a week, but this year he didn't get in. There are just too many campers and too few spots. I thought I'd be just fine with it, but I really miss those few days Dan and I've had together. It makes me really appreciate how lucky we are to have those memories.

Fortunately, we still have our annual family beach trip next month. We're all really looking forward to that and counting down the weeks and days.

And...at the end of the year there will be a week camp session that we think Christopher has a good chance of getting into.

For now I'll use my paper crafting as a little escape and daydream about traveling. Maybe I'll create a couple scrapbook pages of previous vacations? This adorable globe would be perfect for that!

Birthday Balloons

Today I'm sharing a festive birthday card I created for the July 1 - Celebrate challenge over at Curtain Call.

I love this month's inspiration photo! The glitter on those balloons is over the top fabulous!

I had a bit of a challenge with this card. At first I tried to use the balloons from Reverse Confetti's Monkey Business stamps and Confetti Cuts, but I was Copic challenged and just couldn't color those balloons without getting smudges outside the lines. For my second try I thought I'd use the Scallops 'n Circles Confetti Cuts set to make round circles balloons that I added glitter to. But what a mess! There was glitter everywhere and the balloons looked terrible! lol

For my third try I die cut more pre-glittered card stock for the bottoms of the balloons. Finally...that worked! I love how these chubby round balloons look!

Then I used the same glitter card stock for the sentiment.

What do you think? Like? Fun? Hope you have a chance to play along with me and the gals at Curtain Call. I really like all the entries for this challenge...so many adorable cards!

Brrrrr!

Even though winter doesn't officially begin until next week, here in North Carolina it 's been winter-like for over a month! It's the perfect weather for sharing this snowy card I created with Reverse Confetti's Seasonal Sentiment stamps and Let it Snow and Circles 'n Scallops Confetti Cuts.

I created the snowy background by cutting the Let it Snow flakes out of the same color Kraft stock as the background, gluing them on and then wiping it with a white ink pad. It creates a cold frosty look that I love for winter card designs.

Well, today's the big holiday baking day at our house. Sweet smells, warm kitchen and plenty of sampling!

For the Tree

Last Saturday morning I was in the mood to start my day creatively so I made this simple Christmas ornament using scrap card stock and a couple of the latest holiday releases from Reverse Confetti. Here's what I came up with which I thought could also be used for a present tag.

This Christmas I can't get enough of these Branch Out trees and I've also been drawn to jingle bells, metallic ribbon and glittered paper. I love the way glitter sparkles under the tree lights!
