Doodlebug Candy Tubes

It's finally Friday and I have a festive project for you...candy tubes decorated with Doodlebug's patriotic Stars and Stripes collection!

It's been Washi Tape Week on the Doodlebug blog and today they're featuring my candy tubes. What I love about this project is that you can use a number of Doodlebug collections to make these favors for any theme or holiday.

What do you think? Wouldn't they would be awesome for Halloween or Christmas? Or for birthday parties and baby showers? And they're super easy to make! Just add a strip of washi tape along the tube and a couple tags tied on with Doodle Twine and a button. That's it!

Hope you enjoyed my post and have an awesome weekend! :)

Kid Crafted Rockets

Having the kids home during the summer gives us a chance to use our scrapbook supplies for some crafty activities. Today I have a simple project that you and the shorts can make for a patriotic Fourth of July centerpiece....TP roll rockets.

We all have plenty of empty TP tubes, right? :) And scrapbook supplies! I used Doodlebug Design's Stars and Stripes collection.

I arranged our rockets in a milk glass pitcher and then spruced it up with some ribbon and tags. You could use a Ball jar or even a tin can.

To add a bit more detail, I included a pinwheel and little USA sign.

This project is super easy. Just measure your TP tubes and cut paper accordingly to wrap around them.

I used a couple Spellbinder dies for the tops and bottoms of my rockets. You could cut your circles with a digital die cutter or circle punches.

For the rocket tops, I slit my patterned paper to the center and created a cone shape with baker's twine for the fuse.

With an awl, I punched a little hole in the bottom and used bamboo skewers.

There you have it...a great way to spend time with the kids and a cool decor piece for Independence Day! I hope you and your little ones enjoy making these rockets!

Thanks for stopping in and have a wonderful Wednesday! :)

Good Times

One of my favorite things about holidays like July Fourth is that it's the perfect excuse to kick kale to the curb and feast on goodies instead! ;) We're planning a cookout with lots of sinful eats...how about you?

I created this patriotic and sweet July Fourth card with Doodlebug's Stars and Stripes collection.  I added a tiny wood dowel, star rhinestone and baker's twine to the flag sticker to make it a dimensional accent. I also topped the ice cream cone with a rhinestone cherry....yum! Do you like?

Come back tomorrow for another Stars and Stripes project you can create with the kiddos. :) Have a terrific Tuesday!

Page Maps

Hi! How many of you are Page Maps fans? Page Maps is an awesome site for scrapbook sketches and I love that they have card sketches too! Today's crafty share was created with one of Becky's sketches and Doodlebug Design's Stars and Stripes collection.

This bicycle paper is the cutest, don't you think? I just purchased a little bicycle die from My Favorite things and I can't wait to create something with the two...soon.

Thanks for your visit! Hope you have a great start to the week! :)

How about a little crafty share? I have colorful July 4th card created with Doodlebug Design's Stars and Stripes collection. Yesterday I made some TP tube rockets with this line too and look forward to sharing that with you soon....a fun craft to do with the kiddos while they're off for summer break.

Hope you have a wonderful Friday! :)

July Birthdays?

Hello!

How many of you are celebrating a birthday in July? Or know someone special who has a summertime birthday? I had a reader tell me the other day that her birthday is on July 4th! How fun would that be to have fireworks on your big day?!?!

I created this birthday greeting with Doodlebug's awesome new Stars and Stripes collection and if you're thinking of picking up this line at your local scrapbook store, it's great for summer birthday cards too! My favorite part of this card are the bicycles! Oh, and the pinwheel! ;)

Enjoy your day!

July

T.G.I.F. everyone!

Do you have any exciting plans for the weekend? We're having a community wide garage sale tomorrow and I'm hoping it's a great big success! We've been working on simplifying for the past couple years and have given so much to the Goodwill and now we're hoping to make a few bucks on more items.

Saturday evening the family is going out to dinner. A nice reward for our hard work, don't you think?

Before I go wrap up last minute details for our sale, I wanted to leave you with a craft share. I made this Fourth of July card with Doodlebug's Stars and Stripes collection. Swoon! I adore this line!

Have a great weekend! :)

4th of July

Hi!

How was your Mother's Day weekend? Our hike and picnic was lovely! The weather was perfect and it felt so good to take in some fresh air, get some exercise, gaze up tall tree trunks and see a few critters.

I was in the mood to play with Doodlebug's Stars and Stripes collection when I made this card. What is it about these bright red, white and blue colors that get me to feeling so creative? I gravitate towards this collection! How about you, what company/collection rocks your boat these days?

I have a busy week ahead preparing for a garage sale this weekend. It'll be nice to simplify a little more and find homes for stuff we don't use. This has been an on-going project for us for the past two years...to live with less.

Thanks for visiting. Enjoy your week! :)
