Spring Pinwheels

Hello! We're continuing to have beautiful spring weather here in North Carolina. A couple of the trees in the yard are covered in blossoms and a pair of house finches are building a nest in one our our lanterns at the front door! It's a lovely time of year!

Spring craft projects are another thing to love about spring, like these pinwheels made with Fun Stampers Journey Spring Parade patterned papers.

A little candy makes every project a little sweeter, don't you think?

Creating these double pinwheels is super simple! Just cut two 4" x 4" squares and two 3" x 3" squares. Then  make a cut from each of the corners down to the center stopping about 1/2" to an 1" before the center. Now, with your Press Punch tool, make holes in the center of each square and one on every other flap as shown in the photo above.

Next take a brad and thread it through the center hole of your larger square from the back. Then fold over every other flap attaching it to the brad.

Once your large pinwheel is completed and before you secure the brad, add the smaller square and repeat the same steps as with the large square. Once all your flaps are attached, carefully switch it from the back to the front. And there you have a double pinwheel! I dressed up my brads with a couple Journey Color Buttons and attached all to a bamboo skewer with a dab of hot glue.
