Happy Birthday

Hello ladies!

I don't think there are any guys who read my blog except the hubs, right?

Well it's Monday, nothing we can do but make the best of it, right? A little crafty share from me to you is my way of brightening Monday up a bit. :)

This is a combination Doodlebug Design/Silhouette card. Isn't this die cut cool?

As usual I've added some hand stitching. I think a lot of people shy away from hand stitching because it's time consuming, but it doesn't have to be if you add just a little here and there.

Oh how I wish this cupcake were real!!! And zero calories too! I don't want much do I? ;)

All products are Doodlebug Designs except the white card stock and die cuts. The die I used for the sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

Tomorrow is also the first day of Spring and I couldn't be happier! It's my favortie season! How about you, what's your favorite season? I'm really enjoying the warm weather we've been having! It's supposed to be in the mid 70s all week. You can't get any better than that! I hope spring has arrived where you are and that you enjoy it!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

I'm popping in a bit later today than usual to post a St. Patrick's Day card and wishes for you. I was visiting a few blogs this morning and felt a little luck of the Irish seeing some of your projects!

I experimented with vellum, die cuts and stitching for this project.

It appears that I'm back to the reverse die cuts and tags! ;)

Lots of little tidbits...clover cut with the Silhouette, and assortment of buttons from an assortment of companies like Basic Grey and Papertey Ink. Rub-on letters from Doodlebug, tag from Martha Stewart. A couple of my go to die cuts from Papertrey Ink, the notepad paper and flag.

I get quite a few questions regarding my hand stitching so I'm working on a tutorial that's part of a Doodlebug project. That will appear on my blog and Doodlebug's next Tuesday, March 20th.

I hope you enjoy your St. Patrick's Day! Are you wearing green? Will you be drinking a bit of green beer with your meal of corned beef and cabbage? I found a couple recipes on Pinterest for corned beef and cabbage, but I was a little unsure if my boys would go for it and I still remember my mother making it one year...it was a disaster! ;)

Food for Friday

Hello!

I have a couple cookie recipes I discovered on Pinterest that I think are worthy of passing on!

Those of you who love carrot cake will enjoy these Carrot-Cake Sandwich Cookies from Get Off Your Butt and Bake. Gotta love that name!!! :)

These cookies are amazing, they taste just like carrot cake with the Cream Cheese Frosting in the center! Heads up, I didn't cook mine long enough so they were too soft to frost, they kept breaking apart. Even still, my son and I put a dollop of frosting on a small plate and ate our cookies with a fork, dipping pieces into the frosting. I will definitely be making these again and working out the precise baking time.

A couple weeks ago I made these yummy cookies.

They are Almond Cinnamon Cookies from Better Homes and Gardens. They taste very much like Snickerdoodles with an almond flavor and brown butter glaze. I loved the addition of the almond. By the way, the above photograph is from my cookies. They turned out looking just like the recip!. I just love when I get it right! Here's Better Homes and Garden's photo.

Another thing I've discovered with most dessert recipes is that I can halve the frosting recipe and still have more than I need. So unless you love gobs of frosting....save yourself some calories and money.

Trick or Treat

Good day!

Yes, you read the title of my post right! I have skipped spring and summer all together and headed into fall and Halloween! Just for this post, okay? Spring is my favorite season and I wouldn't want to miss a single day!

Doodlebug Designs 'Monster Mania' collection is perfect for creating super adorable Halloween crafts!!!

Have you seen cuter monsters? I added google eyes to make these little dudes even more fun!

A colorful phrase die cut accented with a limeade button and attached to the card with adhesive foam tape finishes if off.

All products are Doodlebug except the google eyes that came from my local craft supply store.

Okay, back to spring! ;) We had an 80+ degree day here yesterday and expect the same today! It sure feels like spring, or late spring. I  hope signs of spring are showing up in your neck of the woods. Enjoy!
