Reverse Confetti - April Blog Hop

The eighth is great because today's the day for Reverse Confetti's monthly blog hop and which is extra special because we have new releases on a non-release month! And really cute ones too!

If you started from Jean Manis' blog you are right on track! To start from the beginning of the hop, get hop information and a list of participants, click here

For my first hop project I used the new Tassel Confetti Cut to create some paper blowers! Aren't these fun?!?! Imagine all the colors you could make these in!

If you would like to give these blowers a try you will need the following supplies:

Paper Straws
12" x 12" Patterned Paper
Tissue Paper
Ribbon

You will also need basic tools such as scissors a score board and craft glue.

First you will cut strips of patterned paper to 12" by 2 1/4" and score them lengthwise at 1/2" and 1 1/2". I used regular weight patterned paper, but a lighter weight paper will make this project a little easier.

Once you have scored your lines, fold both sides inward and glue along the seem making sure to completely cover the entire length of the paper so that air will not escape when blowing through the straw.

Once your glue has dried, you are ready to score a 1/4" length flap at one end of the paper. Apply a little glue on both the inside and outside of the flap and fold over.

On the opposite side of your scored and folded end, attach the straw by applying glue around the perimeter of the top of the straw. Insert glued part of the straw into the paper tube and squeeze the paper around the straw...adding a little glue to keep it sealed.

Next you will need Reverse Confetti's new Tassel die to make the fringe for your blowers. I die cut multiple sheets of tissue paper at the same time and made three separate cuts.

With each die cut piece of tissue I added a little glue to the inside before I folded in in half and on the outside to adhered it to the straw where the pattern paper ends.

Once all three of your tissue tassels are attached to the straw use some ribbon to make a bow around the base of the tissue. This not only looks pretty, but helps keep the tissue in place.

Next up I made a card using the new Shaker's 'n Frames Confetti Cuts along with the adorable new Leaping Lions stamps and Confetti Cuts. Can you believe this is my first ever shaker card! About time, huh? It took Reverse Confetti to make it super easy for me to get on board with this technique!

Don't you love the confetti shapes included in this set? Flowers, stars, hearts and discs....ooh la la!

For my last project I combined the all new Layered Banners Confetti Cuts with a favorite from last month, The Tweet Life stamp set.

These Reverse Confetti April releases are sweet, sweet, tweet! And so fun to create with!

Next up on the hop is my talented teammate Any Tsuruta. Thanks for joining me on this stop of the hop!

VERY clever Kathy!!! Your projects are amazing and the shaker card is just adorable! My daughter is a jewellery designer by trade but since having her 2 young sons, is at home with them. She is always doing crafty things with them and JUST "made" their own grass for their Easter baskets. This tassel die would be the ticket for that job! LOL TFS!
