Look at that adorable smile! That was my goal in making his day special...and it doesn't take much since he's a very happy go lucky kind of guy!
Here's a plate of the hot, just out of the oven macaroni and cheese. Ah, comfort food! The recipe I use is from a Food and Wine book called Pasta. I posted this recipe last fall on my blog since it's a favorite in our home. Click here to see that post.
And here's the chocolate chip cookies! I just used the standard Toll House recipe which Dan also loves! I think it's the taste and nostalgic feeling of having eaten these all his life that he loves so much!
Before I end this post, I'd also like to share another thing I made yesterday. I also got a little crafty project made in between the cooking and baking. There's a new digital kit out at Two Peas in a Bucket called, Not So Frightful' from Jen Martakis. I created these hybrid Halloween tags with the kit.
I've really enjoyed creating Halloween tags this season since they can be used for so many different things! I decorated our black Halloween tree with some.
Here's a tag attached to a vintage Ball jar full of those candy corn we all know and love, even if we don't like the taste of them! ;)
These tags are perfect for dressing up a pillow box. I like to use pillow boxes for gift cards since they are the perfect size!
For my last sample I attached one of the tags to a cello bag filled with Hershey's miniatures. These are great for sending with your child to school for their Halloween parties.
Thanks so much for stopping by. Having you visit is a TREAT! Hope you can spare a little time tomorrow and see some more spook-tacular crafts! :) Kathy

That is adorable, and the same thing my husband loves for his birthday - homemade mac n cheese. Very cute!! Love your card BTW! :)
I love Chocolate Chip cookies too:-) But I do like cake equally..
Those tags are so darling, such a cute bunch of halloween decorations!
YUM!! This whole post is just delicious! I have to agree with your hubby on the choc. chip cookies...much better than cake imo. It is the one food I really can't resist. Your tags could not be cuter!

I'm so glad Dan had a lovely birthday yesterday! The mac and cheese looks amazing and so do the cookies. Peter always prefers cookies on his birthday over cake, too.
I am in love with those tags. How stinkin' cute is that ghost!! Love his funky shape and love the multi-colored sentiment. Awesome background paper, too.
