I have another scrapbook page to share with you. While I was working on my last page, the ice cream one, I noticed that a photo of Christopher sitting on my desk matched the Echo Park 'Happy Days' line perfectly.

Christopher attends several camps throughout the summer and gets to go on a  lot of field trips. This photo was taken at Marbles Kids Museum. He went with Camp Grace, run by the YMCA.

There are so many cool accents in the 'Happy Days' line...everything here with the exception of some buttons, Thickers letter stickers and brads are Echo Park.

Love these brightly colored fun papers!

Well, I'm excited that we'll be going on our annual beach trip in just a few days! It's an annual tradition to go at the end of summer before school starts up again. We have our favorite restaurants we go to and Christopher loves the board walk arcade and rides. We often go to the aquarium while we're there or the model train museum. It's a lot of fun and one of my favorite things is Britt's Donuts! Oh my...it's a little hole-in-the-wall donut place that serves one kind of donut...fresh, hot and dripping with glaze!!! I've been dreaming of these donuts for a while now!!!!

So how will you and your family be spending the last few days of summer?

How is your week going so far?

I can't seem to motivate myself to do anything other than scrapbook our vacation photos! We had such a lovely time in Charleston, but it was way too short! I'm thinking if I scrap our pictures, I can extend the fun just a little while longer! :)

Anyway, to say I'm a huge fan of ice cream is an enormous understatement! I LOVE the stuff! I can eat it when its cold outside, when I'm under the weather and I can eat some after a big dinner when I'm stuffed! Anytime is the perfect time for ice cream in my book! And being on vacation is a fabulous time to indulge in a lot of my favorite treat!

For this page I used the new, colorful, and oh so fun 'Happy Days' line from Echo Park.

Almost everything on my page is from the Happy Days line with the exception of these very cool Thickers letter stickers from American Crafts. I also threw in a bit of twine, a button and a couple of epoxy stickers I had in my stash.

A bit of stitchery went into this page, not so much as my most recent pages, but enough to make me happy! :)

Have you had a wonderful weekend?

I've been escaping the summer heat by hanging out in the craft room! I just finished my first scrapbook page with a photo from vacation.

Charleston is an amazing city to explore! There are so many beautiful old buildings, gardens, churches and walkways! The backdrop of this photo, is an exposed brick building from an alley that I thought was the perfect backdrop for a picture of my hubs.

Before I started this page I sorted through my patterned paper that has grown out-of-control during my scrapbooking years!  I found this old Cosmo Cricket Jitterbug line that matches my photo perfectly! I plan on donating about 1/2 of my paper which is difficult...I will not have the countless options I have now, but there's just so much paper! It seems like such a waste, you know?

As usual, I got stitchy with this page and outlined the diagonal stripes at the top and bottom of the page. I also threw in a bunch of Spellbinder die cut circles and stitched around those too.

I used one of the circles for my journaling and dressed up the page further using a banner die cut from Papertrey ink for my phrase flags and an old Sizzix die for the corrugated stars. 

Not only did I use some super old patterned paper for this page, but I also used some old alphabet dies for the title...the consonants are from Quickutz and the vowels are from a Cuttlebug set. I love when I can still get a lot of use from tools I've had for years!

True Love

Hi! I'm back. Back from the most wonderful vacation ever! Charleston, South Carolina is an amazing place to visit and I look forward to sharing our pictures over the next few posts.

Before we left, I nearly finished this scrapbook page. I just added a few buttons.

From our recent photo shoot, here's a picture of my honey and I. I'm a really lucky girl to have this man in my life!

I don't know if you recognize this older patterned paper with all the circles? It's from Cosmo Cricket's Joy Ride collection and I paired it with Jillibean's bicycle paper from their Blossom Soup line. And a very old Scenic Route striped paper. All these papers were in my scraps bin....yippee!

I cut out the colored portion of each circle and then hand stitched the circle frames. I love the look of all the circles and stitching!

These circles also made for a cool photo frame.

The finishing touches include an assortment of buttons and a few scattered butterflies. This was page was a lot of fun! I'm going to browse my tons of old patterned papers to see if I can find some more cool designs to make stitchy pages with!

Well, I thought I'd leave you with a list of things I learned on vacation...

Time travels at the speed of light while you are on vacation! Thank goodness for photos or I might just think it was all a dream!

Speaking of dreams...I learned that our dreams may not be our own! Compliments of the movie Inception, staring Leonardo DiCaprio.

Godiva Milk Chocolate Liqueur is incredibly delicious! We will be purchasing a bottle as soon as possible! Served over ice is perfection on hot summer days!

Even with a heat index of 114 degrees, I can eat an ice cream cone without wasting a single drop! It would be a crime to let a drop of Haagen Dazs go to waste! ;)

You can never have too many $5 dollar bills on vacation because iced Latte's and ice cream cones all cost $4 and change!

Choosing a place to dine in Charleston is most difficult since there are more than 100 restaurants with world class chefs within walking distance of your hotel!

No matter how wonderful vacation is.....there's no place like home! :) Kathy
