Returning from Asheville

Hello! The hubs and I are just returning from a lovely vacation in the North Carolina mountains. By day we hiked Triple Falls, went zip-lining near the Blue Ridge Mountains and visited The North Carolina Arboretum. The zip-lining was through a company called Navitat. We enjoyed zipping side by side 300 feet above the forest floor for three quarters of a mile...it was amazing!

Each evening we wined, dined and enjoyed Asheville's downtown street life and musicians. And before returning to our hotel for the night we would visit the French Broad Chocolates lounge. They serve seriously yummy chocolates and deserts! One night I tried their maple bacon ice cream....heaven! It was worth the 1/2 hour wait per visit just to experience another sweet treat!

As much fun as we had, there's just no place like home, where our kitty cats roam! ;) We were so happy to see them and Christopher who was at summer camp all week! Over the next few days I'll be getting back into my creative groove making more projects to share with you...perhaps a few vacation scrapbook pages. ;)

Restaurants we dined at:
Limones - Mexican Cuisine
Bouchon - French Comfort Food
Chestnut - American Cuisine
Curate - Spanish Tapas
Tupelo Honey Cafe - Southern Cooking (Best Biscuits Ever!)

Sun Kissed

I'm back from Carolina Beach with a healthy glow, seashells and a fresh outlook that ought to be good for my creative spirit! Just in time too because I came home to a couple big boxes of new CHA goodies from Doodlebug and Pebbles!

I have a ton of e-mails to catch up on and a big to-do list to tackle along with some projects to create for you so I'm going to get to it! I'm also looking forward to finding out how all of you are doing via Facebook and blogs. :)

Missing In Action

You may have noticed that I've been missing in action? The hubs and I have been on a much needed vacation in the North Carolina mountains. We enjoyed hiking some of the most beautiful falls, zip-lining through the treetops like birds and drinking fine wines!

Today we take off again for another couple days, this time with Christopher, to Carolina Beach for our annual end of summer trip. Christopher was at Camp Royall last week horseback riding, swimming, crafting and enjoying camp fires.

I'll be back next week with some crafty project shares and a few photos of our adventures.

True Love

Hi! I'm back. Back from the most wonderful vacation ever! Charleston, South Carolina is an amazing place to visit and I look forward to sharing our pictures over the next few posts.

Before we left, I nearly finished this scrapbook page. I just added a few buttons.

From our recent photo shoot, here's a picture of my honey and I. I'm a really lucky girl to have this man in my life!

I don't know if you recognize this older patterned paper with all the circles? It's from Cosmo Cricket's Joy Ride collection and I paired it with Jillibean's bicycle paper from their Blossom Soup line. And a very old Scenic Route striped paper. All these papers were in my scraps bin....yippee!

I cut out the colored portion of each circle and then hand stitched the circle frames. I love the look of all the circles and stitching!

These circles also made for a cool photo frame.

The finishing touches include an assortment of buttons and a few scattered butterflies. This was page was a lot of fun! I'm going to browse my tons of old patterned papers to see if I can find some more cool designs to make stitchy pages with!

Well, I thought I'd leave you with a list of things I learned on vacation...

Time travels at the speed of light while you are on vacation! Thank goodness for photos or I might just think it was all a dream!

Speaking of dreams...I learned that our dreams may not be our own! Compliments of the movie Inception, staring Leonardo DiCaprio.

Godiva Milk Chocolate Liqueur is incredibly delicious! We will be purchasing a bottle as soon as possible! Served over ice is perfection on hot summer days!

Even with a heat index of 114 degrees, I can eat an ice cream cone without wasting a single drop! It would be a crime to let a drop of Haagen Dazs go to waste! ;)

You can never have too many $5 dollar bills on vacation because iced Latte's and ice cream cones all cost $4 and change!

Choosing a place to dine in Charleston is most difficult since there are more than 100 restaurants with world class chefs within walking distance of your hotel!

No matter how wonderful vacation is.....there's no place like home! :) Kathy

Get Out of Town!

It's that time of year again when school is out for the summer so we take off and have some fun! And time flies when you're having fun, right? Perhaps documenting some of your travels while you're away will help create more lasting memories? I like to carry a journal with me so I can write about some of the things we see or special moments we have and I love to bring one of those mini staplers with me so I can staple receipts and little mementos right onto the pages of my book.

At http://www.cardblanc.etsy.com/ you can find journals for your vacation or maybe you know of a couple about to embark on their honeymoon? What a great gift the above set would make! Well, enjoy the summer and happy trails!
