Happy Halloween - Update

Hi!

If you saw yesterday's post, you know I went on a vintage treasure hunt. Boy did I find some fun things! I found a cool old bushel basket that will make a great display filled with pumpkins and gourds! I found a set of glass measuring cups...so cool! I hope that I'll be able to find some time during the week to photograph and share my finds with you! Many items will be listed in my vintage Etsy site so you can always look there for new goods.

Also, if you stopped in yesterday, you got to see the Halloween card I created. I mentioned that I wanted to add something more to it. I thought it was cute, but needed something.

Here's the card. Several of you said you thought a button or two would be a great addition and I couldn't agree more!

The second item I added was the little trick or treat flag created with part of a border die cut and a toothpick. Amazing how a couple little additions make a big impact! I also wanted to add a black zigzag stitch around the orange striped border, but I didn't have time.

Isn't this paper line adorable? Do you know who manufacturer's it? I love the name! It's called 'Mischievous' by My Mind's Eye.

This cute little black button by Pebbles  makes a great 'o' on this Halloween die cut!

Do you like the card better with these two additions?

Happy Halloween

Hi!

I'm on my way out for a vintage treasure hunt with my gal pal Audrey. I regularly visit the flea market, but today I'm driving a ways to go to the Granddaddy of them all, Granddaddy's Antiques! The place is huge! It takes all day to get through it! You need to pack a lunch! Seriously! So, I'll be wearing some comfy shoes and most likely be exhausted when I get back...hopefully with some fun goodies in tow! :)

Before I go, I wanted to leave you with a crafty treat.

Here's a fun little Halloween card I created yesterday. Cute? I think it's pretty cute, but I think it needs a little more. Do you do that? Call it done and then the next day look at it and think of something else to add? What would you add to this card?

I'll be back tomorrow with a couple additions to show you. We'll see what you think...if it was worth the extra effort or not.

Hello Sunshine!

How are you this beautiful Thursday? Well, I hope it's a lovely day in your neck of the woods!

I'm popping in with a quick card share. Since the calendar still says it's summer, I thought I would make a sunny happy card!

How's this for sunny and happy? Not too hard to achieve with the adorable '100 Days of Summer' line from Simple Stories!

Oh, I'm lovin' these papers so I'm off to make a scrapbook page! I think a beach photo would be a great match!

Families Bloom with Love

Hello!

Are you getting back into the swing of things after the holiday weekend? Long weekends always throw me a curve ball...I always feel like I'm a day behind! ;)

I have a scrapbook page to share with you that I started over the weekend.

I recently created another page using this gorgeous Echo Park line called 'Country Drive' and I loved it so much that I had to do another!

I owe it to my trusty Silhouette digital die cutter for making the scalloped square center, the title and the file divider tab that's behind my photo. Cool cuts, huh?

There's those little flags again...I can't get enough! I created them with stickers from the Country Drive kit and toothpicks. I'm using more of these toothpicks for crafting than we are in the kitchen!

Lots of stitchy stitchin' too! :)

Because you can never have too many die cuts I used this spiral notebook shape from Papertrey Ink and the pinwheel cut from The Cat's Pajamas.

 

I also spent a little time in the kitchen this weekend and have to tell you about Honey Mustard Salmon Salad! Oh yum!

It's funny, when I first saw this recipe on the Whole Foods site it peaked my interest so I pinned it and bought the ingredients. However, when I went to make it, I wasn't in the mood. For some reason it just didn't sound very good. I thought it was going to be too healthy and bland since the recipe calls for plain yogurt instead of mayo. Oh, but I'm so glad I whipped it anyway because it turned out to be so delicious! And I ate it with crackers like the picture shows...loved it! Even more incredible is that my son loves it too ! He gave it a thumbs up! So...if you are looking for an alternative to your tuna sandwich or just want something a little different for lunch do give it a try!
