Ode to Crochet

Every time I crochet something new I'm always amazed with the results! Do you ever get that feeling with your crafty projects? You stand back, take it in and feel so proud? For so long I wished I could crochet and make all the fun little things I'd find on Pinterest and now I can!

This lovely little decor piece is a crochet embroidery hoop...you know those simple wood ones from the craft store? I used my favorite Cascade Ultra Pima Cotton Yarn and Clover 3.75 mm Crochet Hook. I found the pattern/instructions for making it here.

I also made my first cat toy last week. I wish I had taken a picture of Oreo playing with it...he was dragging it off to another room! This was created with a Raverly pattern that you can find here.

If you saw my crochet post from last week I told you about this book on Tunisian crochet. There's my first little swatch. Learning this reminded me of crocheting for the first time where I was all thumbs. My hands just wouldn't move the way they do now with a regular hook. Learning something new isn't always easy, but it is very rewarding and isn't that stitch pretty?

Next on the list of things to learn is sewing. I have a sewing machine collecting dust in my craft room...not good!

Anyway, enjoy your Monday!

Reverse Confetti's June Blog Hop

Hey Confetti fans!  It’s the 8th of the month and time for another project Blog Hop from the Confetti Crew and a few other friends!  The hop started over on the Reverse Confetti blog, and you should have arrived from Amy Kolling’s blog. It would be worth your while to start at the beginning of the hop, so you don’t miss a thing. We have tons of inspiration for you to see using all of Reverse Confetti’s amazing stamp sets!

For my project I baked some banana bread for some special neighbors who are always there for us.

For the recipe, click here.

The Label Me stamp set and Confetti Cuts make it easy to dress up my home baked goodies. This will be super handy around the holidays too.

I hope you have enjoyed hopping with us today. Be sure and hop with us on the 8th of EVERY MONTH for more REVERSE CONFETTI inspiration! Now it’s time to hop on over to Leigh Penner’s blog. If you get lost along the way, you can find the hop order and list of all the participating designers over on the Reverse Confetti blog.

How would you like to win some Reverse Confetti goodies of your very own?  Leave a comment on each stop along the way for a chance to win a $15 gift certificate to REVERSE CONFETTI. Comments are open until Tuesday, June 10 at noon CST, and the winner will be announced on the Reverse Confetti Blog!

A few things before you hop along though, just to keep you “in the know”…

April’s SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY is open for you to play along.  Click HERE for a chance to win.  AND, be on the lookout for another great COLOR challenge on June 16th and another way to win!

Feels Like Summer!

First thing this morning the temperature reading was 75 degrees and very humid! Feels like summer! Feels like we're seaside! Another thing that feels like summer is Reverse Confetti's Let's Chill Stamp Set and Confetti Cuts!

I pulled out the brightest color stamp pads I have to create this yummy ice-pop card and to go with the polka dotted theme I added dry embossed dots and enamel sprinkles. Life is better with sprinkles, right?
