Happy Halloween

Can you believe Halloween is in just a couple weeks? Last time I shared a bunch of Halloween cards with you it wasn't October yet. Eek! Time flies! 

This Halloween card design is a bit different in the sense that instead of stamping and painting this Trick or Treat witch hat and then die cutting it, I made a 'window' with the die and stamped the hat on the white card stock layer below. 

If you want to achieve this look, create your die first and then use a pencil to outline the shape on white card stock so you know where to place your stamped image. 

I can never use just one trim because gingham ribbon and twine look so fun together, don't you think? 

To add a little more interest to the card I inked the edges with Whip Cream ink, splattered a little silver silk around, added a few bats and a few pearls.

Keep Calm and Drink Coffee

 Oh how I love my morning coffee and Fun Stampers Journey 'Enjoy Coffee' stamp set! 

This coffee card creation includes embossed Journey Circles to mimic marks from the bottom of a coffee cup.

 I also added a bit of Dark Roast Silk for coffee splatters. 

Love, love love this to-go cup stamp! Just like the real deal! 

For my photos I had to run down to the kitchen for some coffee beans. Mmmmm....looks so good, right? Who's going to run and get a cup? Or break out the Enjoy Coffee stamp set and play? Hopefully you can do both!

Reduce Reuse Recycle

Did you have an opportunity to see Richard Garay's Tuesday Tip last week on the Fun Stampers Journey (FSJ) blog? It was about reusing those little plastic pouches that many of the FSJ accents are packaged in. They're the perfect size for mini album pockets! 

Aside from the accent pouch, this mini was created with the Under the Sea stamp set, colored with reinkers and shaped with the Banner Parade die set. Isn't this a great memento for vacations? Or how about a little keepsake mini for birthdays?

Sun Anyone?

Because I miss summer already...

...I'm sharing a warm weather, beach card with you today. 

Hurricane Joaquin spun by the North Carolina coast over the weekend leaving us cold, windy and wet, causing me to miss the sun! It was cloudy for a week already before the hurricane neared! 

I used stamps from Fun Stampers Journey Surf's Up set for this card. 

I finally figured out how to get a watercolor look with the acrylic paints from the Journey Media collection. I put a small dab of paint on an acrylic block and added water with my brush until it looked nice and fluid. You'll have to play to get the exact amount of water and look you want to achieve. 

Well...I'm not missing the sun anymore now that I'm in Arizona at the Journey Station this week. Ah....sunshine!
