Farewell to Third Grade

You would think my son would be on cloud nine this morning since today is the last day of school before summer vacation! No, he's feeling a bit sad and says that third grade has been the best year! Christopher actually wanted to go to school last Saturday so he could spend as much time at school since the year is ending. Is this my child? The one who at times throughout the year hated homework and a few times refused to go? Kids! :)

Well, the end of a year is also a time we like to recognize teachers for their hard work and a job well done so this year we got the teachers Target gift cards and I made these adorable little pillow boxes to put them in.

The template for the pillow boxes is from Silhouette. Have I mentioned recently just how much I adore Silhouette? I think I do at least once a week! ;) The ribbon is May Arts, one that I carry in my Etsy shop. Love to work with it and stock it in five colors! The stamp is new from ippity...I love it! I think it would be perfect for bookmarks too!

One other item of business is who won this week's Digital Doodles 'String Bikini' stamp. The winner is Ujjwal of Handmade with Love! Congratulations Ujjwal, I'll e-mail your stamp today! :)

Oh happy day! Guess what just arrived in the mail this morning?  My iPad! :) Yippee! I love reading and saving trees so this will help me do both. And I love to keep up with all your blogs and keep you posted on the latest Digital Doodles, so my new iPad will allow me to do that from anywhere in the house. I could blog and search the net while I'm hanging out with my boys in the living room. Right now, my computer is in the attic on the 3rd floor so when I'm working I'm isolated. That's a good thing some of the time, but it would be nice in the evenings and on weekends if I could spend a little more time in the same room with them!

Well, that's a wrap for the day. Hope everyone has a wonderful day! The weekend is almost here and time to enjoy the family. Hope you make a lot of memories and enjoy the little things!

  32. Hey girl! Your pillow boxes for the teacher's turned out so perfectly. What a fabulous image for them, and I love the combo of kraft and black ribbon. I'm sure these were a big hit.
Nik had a sort of similar reaction to the end of school. She was a bit sad, too, thinking about not seeing her friends again since she's switching schools.
Hope you had a ball with your new toy. I know how that is going to give you so much more freedom.
