Another Winter Day

Do you get to feeling a little down in the winter? I sure do! I miss the longer days of spring and summer and I don't like the cold much.

I think a lot of people feel a little blue during the wintertime. It's also cold and flu season and catching one of these winter bugs sure doesn't help. My husband's grandma, who is 91, just caught a cold and it's really getting her down. Makes me wish I could fly to California and cook up a batch of chicken soup for her! Since that's not realistic I found out about a company that will deliver grandma a hearty jar of chicken soup for me!

How cleaver is this?!?! Spoonful of Comfort will send a jar of soup to a relative who is undergoing chemotherapy or to your best friend who just got dumped! You can even add rolls and/or half dozen oatmeal raisin cookies! We're sending cookies to grandma. There's nothing like homemade sweets to lift spirits! It's a little pricey, but it's not the soup so much as making someone's day that's priceless to me.

As for me, thank goodness for crafting! I think it helps me get through January and February! I have been enjoyed making Valentine cards and decor projects these last few weeks. This weekend I made this Tussie Mussie.

It's perfect for chocolate Kisses with its 'Kiss Kiss' tag on the front! By the way, that tag is another from the Anna Griffin Valentine line I was raving about a couple posts ago!

Supplies:

Card Stock:  Bazzill Basics
Patterned Paper:  Making Memories
Ribbon:  May Arts - Buy
Button:  Oriental Trading
Dimensional Sticker:  Anna Griffin
Beaded String:  Paper Mart

Well, I hope you find a few ways to keep the bounce in your step until spring arrives. Come back Friday and I'll share some more projects with you. Thanks for visiting! :)

  1. I definitely get down. I used to live in Colorado where we had sunshine every day except a few, moved to Texas and it is cloudy more than sunny now! Thanks for your lovely comment on my post. I love all you girls cards. I am not good at figuring out the sketches, but I try!

  3. You are so sweet to send G'ma some soup and cookies. Just like you, my friend, to be always thinking of others.
LOVE how your tussie mussie turned out. The pearl handle is beautiful and I love the ruffled top. Gorgeous papers and embellie, too.
That little guy is sure to fly out of your Etsy.
