Thinking of You

I have another scrap paper card to share with you today. I swear my paper bin breads at night when I'm not watching! Ha! No matter how many projects I created with my leftovers...there are always more! But I think it makes for fun and eclectic kinds of designs, don't you?

How about that doily? It's a die I've had around for quite a while....from Top Dog Dies. I love it and it's awesome that I can make doilies in any color I want! The sentiment is from Pebbles. I'm not sure who manufactured the other various papers. Oldies but goodies!

Pretty Petals

Shall we start the week with a pretty floral card? Lets! I found this piece of pretty floral patterned paper in my scrap bin and thought I'd do something with it. It's an oldie from Crate Paper. So pretty, isn't it?

I had the perfect die for this paper...the Bloom Builder Die #3 from Papertrey Ink.  Makes such pretty flowers, doesn't it?

One of my all time favorite accents are buttons. I have bunches stashed here and there in the craft room so I added a few for flower centers.

No sentiment. I like all occasion cards. It could be a thank you, birthday, or just a note.

Here's to a creative week!

Thank You

Hello! I have a thank you card to share with you today that I created with Richard Garay's Celebrations collection using the Sunny Days stamps and dies set...which is perfect for just about any summertime project!

I started this card by creating an A2 size card base with the Whirl White card stock and then stamping it with a simple cloud background.

Then I added a die cut Pierced Rectangle that I splattered with a bit of silver shimmer. Then I layered that with a sun and more clouds, creating multiple cuts for dimension. To make the circle for the center of the sun I used one of the circles from the Confetti Plate die.

To add a bit of texture to my clouds I embossed them. When you die cut and emboss, you want to do the die cutting first. If you emboss first, your embossing will get flattened out when you run your paper through the machine for the second time.

I also created a matching envelope using the Celebrations Special Occasions Prints patterned paper.

All the Celebrations supplies I used to create this sunny thank you are listed below. Hope you enjoyed the project! If you have any questions about this project, please leave it on a comment.

Just Playing

Oh how I love to play with paper...doesn't matter whether its making cards, party decorations or assembling a scrapbook page. I feel so lucky to be able to craft for a living and be a part of some pretty awesome design teams! The thing I need to be careful of, however, is that I make time to create just for me, just because with no boundaries, rules or specific assignments.

I really enjoy playing with a pretty paper collection from any one of my design teams manufacturer's to create projects to share with you. I remember when I started paper crafting that it was so helpful for me to see what the 'experts' created with the crafting goodies I loved so much. It's how I learned and grew and became a designer.

With a craft room full of paper, accents, and amazing tools, it's super fun to just play. I love to mix and match product, to be inspired by a pretty piece of patterned paper, to take a project one step at a time and see where it takes me.

This card is a product of so many great manufacturers...Anna Griffin, Celebrations by Richard Garay, May Arts, My Favorite Things, Pebbles, Pink Paislee, Reverse Confetti, Scraptastic Club and a tiny bouquet of millinery flowers I purchased from Etsy once upon a time.

Sometimes I feel my best work is created when I make the time to play for the sake of playing.

Hello!

Raindrops on roses, whiskers on kittens and dimensional accents on greeting cards are just a few of my favorite things! So...today I have a dimensional project to share with you that features some fun and fluttery butterfly accents created with Fun Stampers Journey products.

How about these butterfly accents? They're easy to make with the Butterfly Prints die set! With an assortment of patterned paper and card stock, make three cuts per butterflies accent. With the new FSJ vellum, I think a clear layer would look awesome too, don't you?

After you've cut your butterflies, stack them on top of each other.

Wrap some Natural Journey Twine around the butterfly's center and tie at the top leaving the tails for antennas.

To keep those wings from flattening, add a couple Small Journey Foam Squares between the wings.

Not only are these butterflies ideal for card accents, but the uses for them are endless! Have fun!

Fun Stampers Journey Supplies: DI-0015 Butterfly Prints Die Set; DI-0041 Journey Rectangles; DI-0032 Cloud Dreams; SS-0052 Little Big Greetings; PP-0009 Going Places Paper Pack; CS-0118 Cool Pool Cardstock; CS-0023 Oatmeal Cookie Cardstock; CS-0040 Whip Cream Cardstock; IP-0073 Catalina Splash Ink Pad; AC-0133 Natural Journey Twine; AD-0084 Small Journey Foam Squares

Wander

I've got a serious case of wanderlust! I just want to jump in the car and go somewhere we've never been before...like Tennessee. There's so many great places to hike, waterfalls to photograph and small towns to explore and have lunch.

Today I'm sharing a card I made with Scraptastic Club's June 2015 kit, Can't Go Home. It's perfect for scrapbooking all your summer vacation memories and creating cards like this.

I love all the accents from Pink Paislee's Atlas collection that's included in the kit. I've grouped several together for my cards focal point.

So...are you itching to go on vacation? Where would you go?

Summer is Here!

Summer has arrived! Time to hit the beach, take a vacation and spend a relaxing afternoon poolside. Or create a summery card like this one that I made to play along with all the ladies at the Curtain Call

I love this month's beach side inspiration photo of flip flops and sparkling blue ocean water....so I created a little sparkling blue water of my own with Reverse Confetti's Doin' the Wave Confetti Cuts and a few sequins.

I added a Fabulous Flamingo to enjoy a dip under the bright sun from the Sun 'n Clouds Confetti Cuts.

Because I love layers and dimension I glued a few of my waves directly to the card base and then I attached more with adhesive foam tape.

Ooh la la....look at those luscious waves!

Makes me think of our annual family beach trip. Soon. Coming up real soon!

Happy Father's Day everyone!

Oh Yum!

I scream, you scream, we all scream, for blueberry ice cream!

I've been going bananas over the fresh summer fruits and vegetables at the grocery store each week! My cart is always half full before I even pull out of the produce section!

These beautiful blueberries inspired me to create a fruit themed card using one of my favorite Reverse Confetti sets...Love & Ice Cream.

Perhaps this post will inspire me to go whip up some blueberry ice cream? That's if we don't devour these juicy little berries before I get a chance!

Happy summer!
