Days of the Week

Hi! I'm back today to share some more of My Favorite Things Die-namics and stamps from Laina Lamb Design. For today's projects I used the Days of the Week dies that are perfect for so many types of projects from cards and pocket pages to calendars and decor items. Being the card 'queen' that I am I had to use these weekday dies for a greeting!

One of the cool things you can do with dies is to create 'dry embossed' look as I did here. Simply use the same or slightly different color card stock for your base and die cuts. Isn't the texture awesome? And that font is fabulous!

To add more color to my background, I included a bit of spray ink and glossy accents.

To keep the focus on the die cut portion of my design, I used small accents...a mini clothespin, sticker and heart sequins.

Ooh la la...love is in the air!

For my next card I combined the Days of the Week dies with the Office Supplies dies.

To keep with the office theme, I used a real office supply tag as a background layer and stapled the day of the week die to the 3x4 Notebook paper. Wouldn't it be fun to find this card on your desk? When I used to work in an office, I loved going to lunch with my co-workers! Most times it was a nearby deli and once in a while, we would go fancy, enjoying a glass of wine and returning just a little late. ;) Ahh...good memories!

Die-Namics Office Supplies Dies

Besides whiskers on kittens and raindrops on roses the set of My Favorite Things Die-namics Office Supplies dies by Laina Lamb is one of my new favorite things! Ask me to whip a card for my girlfriend, no problem, but ask me to make a masculine card and it can be quite a challenge. Not any more!

I totally love this set! I mean, how cute is this clipboard?!?! And Laina's 3x4 Notehbook Paper die fits it perfectly. For those little paper clips...use metallic paper to die cut them and they will  look real. For additional accents, to go along with the office theme, I included a little black rubber band along with a couple 'Post-It' notes created with plain yellow paper.

This next card showcases a manila envelope you can create with this set. It's so realistic looking with its top and bottom flaps, the crease down the center and the tiny circles dies you can use to make a string enclosure. I thought of another way to close the envelope...a brad placed through the back, just like a real envelope, right?

The At the Office stamp set includes some pretty cool ways to accent these dies and add sentiments. My favorites have to be the marker squiggles! Doesn't that arrow look like it was added with a marker?

I'll be back again tomorrow to show you some more of My Favorite Things Laina Lamb die designs which will include another card using the Office Supplies dies.

Monday Morning Challenge

Hello! It's another Monday and Bella Blvd. is challenging its designers and you to create a project using six of the border cut pieces! This can be quite a challenge to fit all six strips on an A2 size card, but here's what I came up with.

For this first card, I simply found six borders printed together from the Molly collection that I thought would make the perfect background for a girly girl kind of card. Flowers, cameras, polka dots, cupcakes, peace signs and stars make a super cool background, don't you think?

Next up...I got a little more creative this time around and used pennant and circle dies to cut out words and icons from the borders strips of the Classic Calendars collection for this 'love' card.

Whatever the day, month or season, love endures!

Reverse Confetti - July Color Challenge

Hey 'fetti fans! It's time for the second installment of Reverse Confetti's July Color Challenge and these shades are too yummy not to try! I immediately thought of our latest Fabulous Flamingos set when I saw the coral color in this trio...perfect right? And the aqua shade could mean our flamingo friend gets to enjoy a little time cooling off in the water!

(Buy Now - $4.99)

I love using the new Perfect Paisley dies as water splashes and I added some Glossy Accents drops to give them more of a 'wet' look.

Quirky Cuties Blog Hop

Hello! Welcome to Reverse Confetti's Quirky Cuties blog hop! If you arrived here from Cindy Lawrence's blog, you are right on track! To start at the beginning of the hop and for a list of all participants and prize information please start here.

There's nothing like a Quirky Cuties image to bring a smile to someone's face! I choose Rocky the Raccoon for my card because he delivers a letter of love.

How could one resist Rocky? I colored him with Copic markers, paper pieced his shirt and handkerchief and added a tiny heart button to his note. Isn't he handsome?

Next up on the hop is my talented teammate Susan Liles. Thanks for hopping with us today! Enjoy!

Use it Up, Wear it Out

As a paper crafter who makes a lot of cards, scrapbook pages and decor items, I end up with a whole lot of scraps! It was time to utilize some of those pretty papers and this is what I came up with.

This pretty star paper was from the My Girl collection by My Mind's Eye. I used a few dies to make the stars, sentiment and tag. Then I layered all the dies together and topped them a mini clothespin and jute bow.  Like yesterday's card post, I tried to keep it clean and simple and stopped myself from adding more accents. Not easy! ;)
