Happy 13th Birthday Christopher!

Thirteen years ago today I gave birth to this adorable little nugget! Oh how I melt looking at this photo of my baby! I'm sure all you moms can relate! ;)

Since I already made his birthday card and shared it weeks ago, I thought it would be fun to make a baby card for today's post.

I used Pebbles' Special Delivery collection.

This line is just so precious and perfect for celebrating new arrivals, don't you think?

A used a mini safety pin and some fun die cuts all layered together for this design.

Christopher is looking forward to Chinese take-out tonight and a rich gooey homemade chocolate cake and ice cream! Sounds good to me! Happy Birthday Christopher!

Big Day

I have a birthday card to share with you today created with the Twirly Girl collection from Chickaniddy Crafts. Anyone celebrating a birthday? My baby celebrates his 13th birthday tomorrow! I can't believe we have a teenager in the house!

This cake looks good enough to eat! Oh...I could go for a big gooey slice of cake right about now; never mind that is not even lunchtime yet!

I accented the cake with Enamel Hearts...they look pretty yummy too and they're 58% off on Amazon today! One would think I hadn't had breakfast, with all this talk about cake!

Showing off the layers here...card and cake layers! ;)

I've been in a butterfly and pennants mood lately. Kind of feels like spring to me. Any particular trend your drawn to lately?

New From Bella Blvd.

There's been much ado about Bella Blvd's brand new mini collections, Scattered Sprinkles, Summer Squeeze and Classic Calendars and today I created a card using all three of them.

My favorite patterned paper in the Summer Squeeze line is Pocket Full of Posies! I love the black background and how it makes the posies pop! And the reverse side of the paper...oh my! It's a 'hello' script print that I'll be using a lot!

Bella Blvd. is all about cheerful colors, aren't they?!?!

Cake! Life and birthdays are better with cake!

This card can be personalized by writing in the recipient's birthday month.

So...what do you think of the new collections? I'll be showing you lots more projects in the weeks to come!

Go See Do

As the temperatures warm I get excited about summertime activities like our annual beach trip. Crashing waves, sand between my toes and morning walks with my boys to collect sea shells. Wouldn't it be awesome if you could just close your eyes, click your heels and find yourself there?

A couple weeks ago, when it was gray, wet and cold, I pulled out Bella Blvd's Sand and Surf collection (26% off today on Amazon) to play with and created this bon voyage card.

Hope your weekend includes some fun in the sun!

Happy Birthday to You

Hello Chickaniddy fans! I'm here to share a birthday card I created with the beautiful Twirly Girl collection and a fresh new sketch from Pam, Chickaniddy's talented design team coordinator. When I'm limited on time one of my favorite crafty short cuts is to use a sketch just as it is.

Supplies: Papers (TG140S04; TG140S05; TG140S12) Stickers (TG14EB02) Enamel Hearts (TG14EB07) Mini Sticker Tags ( TG14EB04) Gold Foil Paper (CN14SP001)

Keep in mind, when creating a project with lots of different patterned papers, choose contrasting patterns and colors so that they don't all blend together. Each paper I chose pops out from the other showing all the layers that went into the design.

Currently...

...enjoying the dogwoods in bloom! We had this dogwood planted in our front yard a few years ago and it's looking quite fabulous.

...watching/streaming Breaking Bad during my treadmill workouts.

...trying to crochet this pouch, a pattern from Ravalry and having difficulty with the sides and color changes.

...cooking the fresh eggs Christopher brings home from his Agricultural Science class. They're so delicious!

....drinking wine. Weekends at our house is wine o'clock and we'll often try new brands/types.

...pinning this unique paper-crafted canvas piece.

...crafting lots of springtime projects and cards for Bella Blvd, Chickaniddy, Pebbles, SEI and CardMaker. And keeping a secret about another design team gig that will be announced Monday! :)

...smelling fresh cut grass as the neighbors are getting out to do yard work after a long cold winter.

...celebrating our 22nd wedding anniversary this weekend. :)

...eating fresh, organic and local produce from our Community Supported Agricultural program. Each week we pick up a box of fresh produce; this was our first week. Next Tuesday we're getting more specialty lettuce and tomatoes along with asparagus, bok choy and bell peppers. Soon our boxes will include fruits like strawberries, raspberries and watermelon.

...finishing this crochet shawl and pleased as punch with how it turned out. The pattern I used didn't include instructions for the fringe so I winged it.

...scraping Project Life and keeping current. Also working on a couple pages for National Scrapbook Day.

...planning Christopher's 13th birthday. He wants to order in Chinese food, receive Legos and have me bake him the rich and gooey chocolate cake I've made the past couple birthdays.

...looking forward to summer vacation. For the past seven years, Christopher has gone to camp for a week while Dan and I pick someplace to go. This year it's quite possible that Christopher will not get into camp so we've planned a family trip to the mountains in Ashville.

...considering sewing classes. I'd love to learn to sew! I think I would fall head over heals as I have with crocheting!

...hoping you all have a great weekend and a Happy Easter!
