Love and Snowballs

T.G.I.F!

I'm popping in for my daily Valentine share. I hadn't planned on sharing a Valentine card with you each and every day, but it seems I can't get enough of the Yours Truly collection from Pebbles!

I thought it would be fun to add a little sparkle to my card using a tinsel pipe cleaner. What do you think? I bet making heart shapes with these would be fun!

I'll close today's post with a picture of Christopher throwing snow...

...and my kind of snowballs, Pecan Balls.

I prefer a cozy kitchen and baking to playing in the snow! ;)

Pop-Up Valentine Card

Valentine's day will be here in just a couple more weeks! How about sending your sweetheart a pop-up card for the occasion? Inspired by Tami Maberry's card from the winter issue of CardMaker, I created a floating hearts card posted here

It's a balmy 6 degrees outside this morning, the coldest it's been since we moved to North Carolina 9+ years ago! Schools are closed once again and Christopher is looking forward to playing in the snow some more.

Couch cat, Latte, is unaware of the freezing cold...he's having a nap in the living room this morning.

Young Oreo isn't bothered by the snow, he sits in the snow that gathered on the patio.

Cold winter gear lines the kitchen counter.

Snowy weather is the perfect time to continue with my crochet lessons...I learned how to make these flowers yesterday using this tutorial.

So...what's the weather like in your neck of the woods?

Love

Love is all you need. And maybe a lasso to catch him! ;)

Here I go again...crafting more Valentine cards with Pebbles' Yours Truly collection! The possibilities are endless and so much fun!

Polka dots, stripes and hearts oh my! Along with a some dry embossing. Lots of yummy layers and textures...just the way I like it!

Yesterday we were expecting a pretty big snow storm to come our way. As I mentioned in my post Tuesday, schools were closed, some folks decided it was a good idea to pick up a few groceries at the store and then we all waited. And waited. And waited. The several inches we were supposed to get in the early afternoon never came. We did however get a couple inches in the middle of the night.

There was enough snow for Dan to sweep off the deck and stairs before it turns to slippery ice.

There was enough snow to entertain Christopher.

And...there was enough snow to warrant hot cups of cocoa when the boys came back inside!

Brrrrr!

Party Time

A snowstorm is headed our way, schools are closed and the neighborhood kiddos are standing by with their sleds! Snowballs will soon be flying through the air and I know Christopher will be asking me to make him some hot chocolate! :)

On my blog today it's Party Time with SEI's January Cardmaking Kit. It's all about birthdays and celebrations and cute little gift bags to stow presents in!

To make the matching gift bag, I used the left over papers from my card to create a couple banners, layering them with coordinating accents from the kit! Too easy and reusable too!

For more birthday card ideas, head over to SEI Lifestyle

Here's a peek at one of the cards I made...complete with gift card pocket.

Well...I'm going to go see how much work I can get done before the snow falls. Once those big fluffy flakes start floating to the ground I wont be able to concentrate on anything else! Can you tell we don't get that much snow here? ;)

Wonderful Washi

You gotta love washi ! It comes in so many lovely colors and patterns and there's a million and one things you can do with the stuff! I have a Crafts - Washi Tape board on Pinterest that's loaded with ideas and creations. Recently I pinned this washi stickers post which gave me the idea for today's card design.

Instead of creating stickers, I used the negative punches as a design for my project. I used some of my favorite Decorative Tapes from Bella Blvd. and a die cut sentiment from Papertrey Ink.

What have you made with washi lately?

Inspired By

This morning while drinking my coffee and perusing Pinterest I found this card design using metallic card stock and dry embossing. It inspired me to run up to the craft room and create this card.

I love the texture and look of foil!

You know what else I love? This tweet bird! He's my favorite Chips accent in Pebbles' Yours Truly collection.

As I mentioned the other day, I'm addicted to conversation hearts lately...here's another.

How about the dimension? This is the reason the hubs has to pick up some more 3M Foam Mounting Tape at Target today...no card is complete without it!

Like? I like. It was fun to do a little playing this morning! Thanks for the inspiration Linda!

I'm going to go work on my Project Life album now. I'm still awaiting a new printer head, but I'm going to work on the rest and add the photos later so I don't get too far behind.

Have a great weekend!

Around Here

Around here...my printer is threatening to derail my Project Life progress only a few weeks into the new year! The printer head clogged and a new one is on order. Until then I thought I'd share some photos I might use for week three.

Around here...Oreo is a constant source of entertainment...

...as well as Dan! He thought it'd be funny to peek inside the camera lens while I was trying to take a picture! He's always cracking me up!

Around here...I'm continuing on with my home crochet classes with the help of Pinterest, YouTube, my iPad and the many wonderful folks who create these tutorials.

I learned to make this crochet flower complete with puffy popcorn stitches.

My goal is to be able to make projects like this brooch that I purchased on Etsy. Isn't the detailing lovley?

Around here...while the weather outside is frightful, I'm enjoying this pretty orchid...

...and this lovely air plant that the hubs bought me for Christmas.

Around here...mornings equal coffee, checking e-mails and perusing Pinterest.

Around here...living with three long hair cats makes it incredibly dusty so I spent a number of hours last weekend dusting (vacuuming) the shelves and pretties.

Around here...Christopher is currently off-track and spending a few days playing train simulator before attending camp next week. Dan and I are proud that he made the A/B honor roll again this period. Way to go dude!

So...what's going on around your house?

Yours Truly

I can't get enough of Pebbles' Yours Truly Valentine collection! This is one of those lines where the ideas just keep coming!

I've also been drawn to conversation hearts this Valentine season. For smaller hearts like the ones used on this card, a single letter to symbolize hugs and kisses works well.

If you adore Yours Truly like I do, you'll be happy to know I have many more projects to share with you between now and February 14th! :)
