U2R Out of This World

Happy Weekend! Hope you're enjoying it!

The countdown is on...we're off for vacation tomorrow! Woot! Before I go I'm leaving a scrapbook page share for ya'll. :)

This is another one of my hybrid projects using an out of this world digital kit called 'Over the Moon'

by Scrap Originals. Love the patriotic colors and cool space images!

As you can see, I put a lot of stitching into this one! :) I can tell you that when I was done with the last stitch I was pretty thrilled! My hands were getting tired!

I love the handwritten phrases in this kit and used one for the title.

I included a few gems throughout the page and some hand drawn stars that I stitched also. All the kit accents were cut using a set of 'Spellbinders' circle dies.

And there you have it. I really like this page. I think my boys look fabulous! I love the bits out of them! The photo was recently taken by a fellow scrapbooker, bloggy friend of mine who just so happens to live here in North Carolina...Patty Kumfer. I'll be scrapping more of the fab photos Patty took!

So...I might pop in over the next few days to share a bit of our vacation with you. :) Depends if I remember to take a photo of my heavenly dessert before I gobble it down in one bite! It's when I'm sitting back, licking my lips and patting my round stomach that I remember I was supposed to take a picture! ;)

Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend. Until I post again! :) Kathy

Bon Appetit Cards

Hello!

I'm getting a little antsy here because we're going on vacation in just a few days! Oh it's been a loooooonng wait because I've been reading a lot of your blog posts about the vacations you went on this summer! I've seen so many heavenly photos of the beach or of the ocean liner you took to an exotic island! The fruity cocktail with umbrella that you sipped poolside! Ahhh.....now it's my turn! :)

Okay, snap out of it! We still have a few days to go and I have a couple cards to share with you! After I made my last scrapbook page, I decided to use some of the scraps for these cards.

Here's a card you can send to a friend, inviting him or her to tea. This 'Bon Appetit' line by Doodlebug Design, Inc. is so darn CUTE!

Doodlebug corners the market on bright happy colors, don't you think?

I added a bit of stitching to the background die cut and a few American Crafts alphas for the title. That's it...easy easy!

Next I made this thanks card.

Doodlebug also has the cutest brads! Seriously! This little blue bird is one of my all time faves!

As you can see...I did some more stitching...gotta have it! ;)

So there you go...two simple and fun cards...so easy with Doodlebug's coordinating goodies!

Well, one more day to Friday! And extremely hot temperatures again. Hope you have some COOL plans for the weekend! ;) Kathy

Tortilla Soup Scrapbook Page & Recipe

Hello!

How are things with you? Great to have you stop by because I have a scrapbook page and recipe to share with you!

First up...my page created with the 'Bon Appetit' line from Doodlebug Design, Inc. I love the adorable brads...the little spatula is too darn cute!

The journaling documents my new found love of cooking and how I made this tortilla soup from Taste Food.

Not only do I love cooking, but I love stitching...so I outlined the flowers and border on this patterned paper.

As for the soup...oh my! Good stuff! Fresh veggies and low cal...unless you load it up with a big dollop of sour cream, tortilla chips and a couple avocado wedges! ;)

Have an awesome day! Kathy :)

Scrapbooking Love

Hey!

Okay, how hot was it in your neck of the woods yesterday? We were at 101 degrees with a heat index of...oh shoot, I can't remember, but it was hot, hotter and hottest! I went out in the morning for a quick flea market trip and then locked myself in our air conditioned house for the duration! :) And we're expecting more of the same today...ugh!

So while I'm hiding out from the heat, I've been scrapbooking, something I absolutely love so I created a scrapbook page about it.

And guess what? SEI is having a design team call too! So I used their 'With All My Heart' line for this page that I'll be submitting.

I stitched around the pink hearts of this patterned paper, added die cut hearts in some of the other patterns and heart shaped brads. You can click on the photo to get a better look at the details.

I used some fun 'Giggle's Thickers for the title and used a few photos of my most recent scrapbook pages.

A few more hearts and brads among the pictures. Done. Fun!

So, it's currently 105 degrees here with the heat index and we can hear some thunder in the distance. We hope that the storm heads in our direction because it would cool things down about five degrees. Our neighbors are probably doing a rain dance because they lost their air conditioning yesterday! Not a good time for that!

So, how hot is it where you are and what are you doing to keep cool?

Kathy :)

How to Beat the Heat

Hello!

With blistering HOT temperatures covering most of the US, including North Carolina, I thought it was the perfect time to share this scrapbook page!

I'm beating the heat by scraping away inside my air conditioned craft room! And I'm using a brand new digital kit from Two Peas in a Bucket called 'Beat the Heat' by Chrissy W. Look at these fabulously colorful papers!!!

With summer in full swing, this kit is perfect for beach, pool and slip and slide pages!

This kit contains some great phrases that I used as templates to accent my page.

I LOVE stitching and got a bit carried away here with the water!

Ooh la la, I really like this umbrella. I erased the digital umbrella post before I printed it out so I could add a real wooden one...a bamboo skewer!

A few of my favorite die cuts were put to use for the sub-title strips, hidden journaling spot, title background, folder tab, and butterflies.

This picture was taken last summer on our annual beach trip...which is coming up soon. I'm so excited...it's another way to beat the heat!

Stay cool! And hopefully wet! :) Kathy

Pebbles Page

Hey there!

If you stopped by for a visit yesterday, you may have read that Pebbles is having a design team call and I was working on a page for it. Well I finished and thought I'd share...

I sent in a few projects I had already created and then I made this page using their sweet Twitterpated line to show what I can do their product.

The pictures for this page were taken on Valentine's Day this year. My hubs took me on a little antique hunt and out to lunch. He also bought me these adorable mini brownie bites.

Since I love to use border punches, stitching and die cuts, I included a lot of that on my page.

One of my favorite Pebbles embellishments is their little flower buttons that you can mix, match and stack. I used a few of those throughout the page.

I'm lovin' my latest die from Tim Holtz, the paper rosettes! It makes these so much easier to make than scoring them yourself!

Well, if you're interested in applying for the design team, there's still time. The deadline is July 29th. If you apply, I wish you much luck. Wish me the same! :) Maybe we'll get to be on the team together?

Have a fabulous day! Kathy

Thanks

Hello!

I have a card to share with ya'll today! A card I made with scraps from my stash heap! My huge, out of control heap that breeds! A card I got a little funky with!

So what do you think of my crazy background?  My dad recently sent me a thank you card with Cat in the Hat on it and it had a background like this and I thought I'd like to try to make a paper pieced one with stitching around the edges.

Then I added some felt flowers, hearts and a butterfly. Can't go wrong with flowers, hearts and a butterfly can  you? :)

I used some My Favorite Things, Papertrey Ink and Quickutz dies for this card. Oh how I love dies, let me count the ways! And buttons! I threw a button in for good measure.

Anyway, did you know that Pebbles is having a design team call? Just until the end of the month if you're interested. I love their products! So happy, colorful and fun! I'm working on a page this morning to send in. Wish me tons of luck! A lot of you are soooooooooo talented that it's not easy getting a design team position!

Hope you have a happy day! :) Kathy

I'm On Cloud 9!

Hey!

I hope all of you have been having a great weekend! We have been having a lovely weekend! The weather decided to stay just under 90 degrees which is very nice for this time of year. Yesterday I got to meet one of my blog friends whose craft work I admire so much...Patty Kumfer over at Scrapbook Patty. We did a little shopping at Archivers, what else? And had a bite at California Pizza Kitchen before heading to my house for a family photo session. Not only is Patty an awesome paper crafter, but she has recently started a photography business and I think she's got talent!

Here's a sneak peak from our session. Isnt' this wonderful?!?! I didn't think we were going to get Christopher into the photos with us! He really hates having to pose for photos and so I got a bribe Lego set, but when he saw it he said, "It would take about a $1,000 Lego set for me to pose for photos!" Oh no! I thought about telling him he had to participate, but then I thought we would have photos that looked like he was made to cooperate! In the end, when he saw how much fun Dan and I were having with Patty, he decided to join in! Hence the bright tie-dyed t-shirt! Oh, but don't we all look fabulous?!?! This is the only photo I've seen so far and I can't wait to see the rest!

Thank you Patty from Patty K Photography!

Squirrel Nap

Hello!

Happy T.G.I.F. everyone!

I finally have another crafty share for you! This scrapbook page has taken me a couple days since there's quite a bit of stitching and because today's weather was so much cooler than it's been that I had to spend some time out in the yard this morning! All I did was some weeding, but I really enjoyed listening to the birds and watching the squirrels while I was working.

Speaking of squirrels, I recently posted a photo of this furry guy who is the topic of my page.

All of the adorable accents used for this page are from a new digital kit out this week at Two Peas in a Bucket called 'Ledger Owl and Friends' by Holly Brooke Jones.

I thought some graph paper would make the perfect background for these ledger stickers! I added detail stitching to each of the stickers and a few pearls to one of the mushrooms.

The page title was created with a couple American Crafts Thickers fonts...gotta love Thickers!

Love how this turned out. Fun! Makes me smile! Hope it puts a smile on your face too! :) Kathy

Fun House

Hey Ladies! Top of the day to you!

I have a fun crafty scrapbook page share for you! I had this photo I love from last summer of hubby and our son at Carolina Beach and Boardwalk's fun house.

To create this hybrid page, I used a brand spankin' new kit out this week called, 'Vacate' from Polka Dot Pixels. These fun designs and bright colors are perfect for a carnival page, don't you think?

I printed some of the patterned papers, cut them into strips, attached them together with some tape on the back before I cut them into circles with a Spellbinders die. To give it a quilted look, I zigzag stitched all the patterns together.

I love these Jillibean Soup corrugated alphas! I hope they continue to make more. I noticed that Two Peas in a Bucket doesn't have the green or white any longer! Bummer! You can see I've used a border punch here - use them on almost every page! I love it...getting my monies worth out of those punches!

Here's my boys...jailed in the fun house! Looks like they're having a great time as cell mates! ;)

Well, I hope you're having one terrific day! I'll be back soon with another crafty, yummy or vintage share! Enjoy! Kathy

You Are My Sunshine

Hello!

It's Saturday evening as I type this post. How's your weekend going? I'm having a typical Saturday...enjoying some family time and getting things done, a trip to the flea market first thing this morning for me while the guys got their hair cut.  This afternoon I spent a little time in the kitchen making wheat bread and ice cream! We already finished off the quart I made on the 4th! Must keep up with demand! ;) So what's going on at your home?

I'm stopping in to share a couple projects with you. The first is a hybrid card made with a new Two Peas in a Bucket digital kit called 'Month by Month - June Collection' by Shelley Castillo.

This kit is full of bright and happy patterned papers and elements...just look at this adorable little red bicycle! Love!

I used a couple Spellbinders die cuts for the scalloped card shape and inner circle. Added a little zigzag stitching, ribbon and a tiny button. Done. Fun!

My next project is a scrapbook page using another fabulous digital kit called 'Childs Play' by Polka Dot Pixels. I apologize about the pics...I have a hard time photographing pastels.

This is a photo-less page about a funny thing my son does. In the morning he lays under his covers while he wakes up and then suddenly he'll bolt up and say, "GUPPY!" He started this a couple months ago and it always cracks me up!

There's so many beautiful papers in this kit that I decided to print a bunch of square swatches and then use some Spellbinders die cut circles to punch out the centers.

This kit contains some fabulous vintage images like the little boy on his bicycle. The fish button is from Making Memories...something I've had in my stash for years!

I put these flags from the kit on toothpicks and added a lot of stitching throughout the page. Fun to create!

Well, that wraps up my crafty shares for you this weekend. I'll be back on Monday with another page! Meanwhile, I'm going to go on a little blog hop tonight and see what crafty things you have to share with me! Enjoy the rest of your weekend! :) Kathy
