Tomatoes

Hi! Top of the (insert time of day) to you! :)

I have a scrappy page share for you! About tomatoes! Love those vine ripened, grown in your own backyard kind! Do you have a veg garden? I don't, yet, but we purchased a cherry tomato plant because I love little tomatoes! I eat them like candy!

I created this hybrid scrapbook page with another must have digital kit, 'Grown'

by Polka Dot Pixels. What a fun kit! The papers are yummy and the elements are vintage inspired...right up my alley!

Love the seed packets and this oh so real looking popcycle stick plant marker!

The little mini wood clothespin is real, along with the jute, otherwise all these lovely papers and elements are all part of the kit!

I added my usual inked edges, punched borders and hand stitching. I created the title with a patterned paper from the kit and the Silhouette

. Fun page indeed!

Well, the weekend kicks off tomorrow as well as the Royal Wedding. Do you have any plans to share? I'll miss the wedding and all the tea celebrations I've heard about since I'm attending the Liberty Antiques Festival tomorrow. And then on Saturday, Christopher turns 10 and we plan on taking him on a train ride, giving him a Lego train kit and having dinner out. Shall be an amazing weekend! Hope your weekend is too! :) Kathy

Oh...don't forget that Two Peas in a Bucket

is having a Free Shipping event! Just purchase $30 and you get your goodies delivered to your door at no cost! Gotta love that!

My Friend

Hello friends!

I have a friendship card that I put together for no reason what-so-ever! I love those kind of projects! I didn't make this card for an assignment or for a particular person or occasion. I created just for the fun of it! Just to play!

The papers I used for this card are a mix of Crate Paper

, Echo Park

and Jillibean Soup

. I added links here to all the Two Peas in a Bucket products because they are having a FREE SHIPPING event! Gotta love that! Just use SMSFF9 from now to May 11th.

I used some of my Papertrey Ink stamps, 'Just the Ticket' and the sentiment is from 'Friendship Jars.' I also used a couple stamps from a Unity set called 'Blossom Soup'

create by Jillibean Soup.

The heart die is from My Favorite Things and I embossed it with a Quickutz embossing folder that I ran through my Big Shot. The photo corner and file tab are Quickutz dies and the tags are dies from my old faithful Sizzix. I often laugh at myself for having so many die cut machines, but hey...I use them! :)

Other tools used are my old Fiskars 'Cloud' scissors and scallop border punch

. The butterfly dies were actually included in my March Midnight Rooster kit.

I colored the stamped images with Copic

markers, inked my paper edges and added hand stitching. You may have noticed that I use a lot of crinkled and dyed seam binding? I get mine from Marilyn Healey at MemerieMare on Etsy. Her seam binding is the best! Some of the other shops don't dye their ribbon the way she does so it doesn't have the vintage look of Marilyn's. She has the best color selection and she binds hers in little bundles with text paper, craft string and old mother-of-pearl buttons! Fun!

So what will you be doing this mid week Wednesday? I started a scrapbook page last night using another fabulous digital kit from Peas. I'll probably have that to share with you tomorrow. I hope your day is the best! :) Kathy

Roads

Hello! How was your Easter weekend? We had a lovely one. I baked some oatmeal cookies for the boys and I attempted to bake bread too! Let's say it wasn't a complete disaster and the bread was eatible, but it was a bit on the doughy side! I think I added too much liquid somewhere along the way and ended up having to add more flour to make it the right consistency! ;) Well, I'm not giving up on bread just yet. I will try try again and hopefully persavere since it would be cool to bake our bread! I've really been into cooking from scratch these days.

Speaking of making things...I created this hybrid page over the past couple days.

How about these 'Penmanship'

papers? I love 'em! They're from a new digital kit at Two Peas in a Bucket, made by Polka Dot Pixels.

Last year, in 3rd grade, Christopher wrote this poem about roads. It's pretty good and the first one he's written and this kit was perfect for scrapping it! Yesterday my crafty buddy Audrey had a pinwheel card posted on her blog and it reminded me that I haven't used these fun little accents in a while!

The chipboard title letters are old American Crafts' Thickers and the background card is from the digital kit.

I used a couple Spellbinders

dies and a few border punches for this page. Can you believe this? My beloved Wizzard broke! I'm beside myself! I use that die cutter for almost every project! What am I going to do? Do you have a used one you want to get rid of? I've been telling myself this is the perfect excuse to get a Grand Calibur! ;)

Well, I'm off to do something...not sure what. My list of to-dos is plenty long, but none are urgent so I'm not sure which things to tackle first. Heck, maybe I should just say, 'The heck with the list!" Do something fun instead? ;) So what's on your agenda today? Same ol' same ol' or something cool? Whatever it is...make it fabulous! :) Kathy

Enjoy Life

Hi! Happy Easter! Hope you and your family have a wonderful weekend!

I just finished up a page today that I'd like to share with you.

It's about enjoying life, enjoying spring and all that comes with it like strawberry picking!

These incredibly fun pastel papers are from a new digital kit at Two Peas in a Bucket called 'The Good Life'

by Tickled Pink Studios.

These patterns are so adorable and fun to work with!

I used some Papertrey Ink dies to make the hidden journaling card and the little yellow felt butterflies. I also used a  couple Spellbinders

dies for the title, a Silhouette

cut for the larger vellum butterflies and a couple Martha Stewart border punches.

From my stash I used some Doodlebug buttons and bakers twine to dress up the butterflies and some Doodlebug Simply Sweet rub on letters for the subtitle.

What a fun page this was...oh how great it is to loose yourself in a project!

Well, have a terrific Easter. I plan to make the family a nice dinner....ham, scalloped potatoes, home baked yeast rolls and oatmeal cookies. Christopher is looking forward to the Easter bunny bringing chocolate and hiding eggs! :) Kathy

Sweet Birthday Card

Hi! How are you this fine Thursday? Are you looking forward to the weekend? I keep forgetting today is Thursday because my hubby took yesterday off and we went to pick strawberries. So all day I kept thinking it was Saturday! Funny how something like that can mess with your internal calendar!

Well, since I was out playing yesterday, I didn't have a project to share with you today! And I felt bad! Can you believe it!?!? So I've been playing this morning just to make you something! I hope you like!

Since I'm on a roll with birthday cards here's another! ;)

I got to play with some new goodies I've been buying lately...the 5 & Dime

line from October Afternoon, the Basics

from Basic Grey and my new flower die cut from My Favorite Things. Love how you can easily make fabulous looking flowers with felt!

This yummy little desert menu came from one of the 5 & Dime papers. I thought that adorable slice of cake would be perfect for a birthday card.  The die cuts that I framed the menu with are Spellbinders

. Those die cuts always get a work out in my office!

The sentiment was created with a Papertrey Ink stamp from the Tiny Treats Birthday set and the scalloped boarders were made with a Fiskars

border punch.

There you have it...a crafty good share for the day!

Oh, and before I wrap up this post I'd like to share a picture of Christopher picking strawberries yesterday.

We picked two five pound buckets of these beautiful, red, sweet and delicious berries! Life is good! And sweet! Have yourself a beautiful day! :) Kathy

Birthday Balloons

Hello! I'm coming to you from sunny North Carolina where it will be about 80 degrees today! It couldn't be a more beautiful spring day! I love this time of year before it gets too hot and humid and buggy! ;)

I've got birthday card fever again!

This hybrid card I created for our son Christopher who will be turning 10 in just about a week!

The papers, balloons and sentiment ribbon are all from a colorful and fun new digital kit at Two Peas in a Bucket called 'Come One Come All'

from Dianne Rigdon.

The red border is from Bazzill Basics, the die cut balloon frame is Spellbinders

and I added a bit of zigzag stitching. That's it, easy fun!

So what are you doing today? Do your plans include any outdoor activities? It's so hard to stay indoors all day with such beautiful weather! I have plenty to do in my office, but I might have to sneak out for a bit. ;) Hope your day is grand! :) Kathy

Happy Birthday Pennants

How are you this Monday? Happy to 'see' you! We'll be having a lovely day here in North Carolina after some tornadoes rolled through on Saturday! All is fine in our neighborhood. A tree fell down next door and didn't hit anything, fortunately!

I have a card share for you! I made another card with the some fabulous Girls' Paperie papers!

I created these little pennants with a pattern I created. Someone should make a punch in this shape!

I used some fancy little shaped toothpicks for my flags.

The blue border punch is from Martha Stewart and the little butterfly punch is an old Paper Shapers punch. It's been used quite a bit and doesn't cut as cleanly anymore. Some inking, stitching and a stamped sentiment were the finishing touches.

I like to keep my favorite cards and this one might be a keeper? I just love the bright colors and happy patterns. A lot of the cards I keep are placed around the house. They make nice little accents and I'd rather see them here and there than to throw them in a box somewhere. What do you do with all your cards? I just had an idea of putting some of my favorites in an album, the kind with pockets for photos. I wonder if they make that size pocket?

Hope you have a great day! Our son is home this week for Spring Break. It will be a mix of relaxing and working this week. How about you?  :) Kathy

Love Stitching

Hi! What a lovely Friday morning it is here in North Carolina! I'm getting a few things done in my office this morning and then I'll be heading outdoors to do some gardening! Must dig my hands in soil, listen to birds chirp, breath in fresh air and plant pretty flowers!
Before I take off, I have a page to share with you! A page I've been working on the past couple days because it's got a lot of yummy stitching!
This digital kit was made for me! New at Two Peas in a Bucket this week, 'Stitch in Time'by Polka Dot Pixels is nothing short of fabulous!

Look at these vintage notions cards! Too darn fun! I added them to a couple bamboo skewers to make flags of them. And the patterned papers...sew cool! ;)
I used a photo of a recent card that's sewing themed and full of hand stitching.

Here's my title done with Thickers and more kit elements along with a couple die cuts and vintage mother of pearl buttons.
Well, after a day in the garden, it'll be fun to work on another digital kit from Peas later on this evening. Maybe I'll have it done and share it over the weekend? Speaking of weekends...hope you have the best! :) Kathy
