Hello Mercantile!

Top of the day to you!

I have another card share! Created this with a new kit from Two Peas in a Bucket called 'Mercantile'by Polka Dot Pixels.

This kit is one of my all time faves! You have to check it out...so many awesome elements and papers! I could only use a few for my project.

Here I added three swatches of vintage lace trims, an old mother-of-pearl button, jute and a little tag with a Papertrey Ink butterfly stamped on it.

I used four papers from the Mercantile kit. The text paper was used to print the morning glory accent on. Love the little ticket element! Everything is inked around the edges and I had to add stitching! ;)

Well, spring is still missing in action around here. I'm in morning! Trying to keep my chin up! I think I'll meet a gal pal at the mall where I can't tell what the weather is outside! I'll pretend it's sunny and warm! :) You have a most wonderful day, okay? :) Kathy

Good Wednesday to you!

How are you this fine day? I'm happy to have a card to share! After finishing my 'Spring Home' scrapbook page, I was cleaning up the scraps of paper when I saw that the floral paper looked fabulous with another Crate Paper pattern in in my scrap bin, the aqua dots. I pulled them together to make this card.

I love the way all these Crate Paper patterns work so well together!

I used a couple Spellbinders die cuts and a couple Papertrey Ink (PTI) dies along with a Fiskars border punch. Remember the day when we didn't have this many tools to create with?

Oh how I love the PTI felt! Look how beautifully it cuts! The lace trim was a little gift from an Etsy order and the sentiment is a Pebbles rub-on.

Well, it's a rainy cold day here again. That means I will be staying inside and playing with more paper! I just got a couple more digital kits from Two Peas in a Bucket yesterday and can't wait to create with them. Some great stuff!  Hope you have a great day! :) Kathy

Spring Home

Hello!

It's another Monday! Hope your weekend was terrific! I hear those of you in the southern portion of the states had a hot day yesterday! Someone in Texas mentioned 93 degrees! Wow! We barely got up to 40 here in NC...not very nice!

With our rainy and cold weather I've been getting some scrapbooking done.

Recently I took some photos of our spring decor to share on my blog. I thought it would be fun to create a page with those photos.

I just got Crate Paper's 'Emma's Shoppe'collection and wanted to play with it.

I added a few of my stash items too. The 'bits & pieces' tag is from Little Yellow Bicycle and the umbrella die cut is from My Mind's Eye. Do you like the stitching I added to the umbrella?

I used a couple styles of Thickers for the title and a few butterfly die cuts from my Midnight Rooster March kit.

I had a lot of fun putting this page together! I got inky with the paper edges and I added zigzag stitching. Do you display any of your pages once they're completed? I use easels throughout the house to display the most recent pages.

Well, I hope your Monday is kind to you and that your weather is better than ours! :) Kathy

The Latest

Hello!

How has your weekend been? Spring is still missing around here! Hope it comes back soon. I miss it so much already! :)

I have a crafty card share for you!

Polka Dot Pixels did it again...created a most fabulous digital kit called 'Collage Craft'that's full of vintage elements and cool aged looking papers! You can purchase this kit at Two Peas in a Bucket.

I adore elephants so this 'Reward of Merit' card was a must to incorporate into my card! I love it!

I added a bit of seam binding, a yellow die cut flower from Crate Paper, a plain white tag, the buttons and 'Celebrate Today' stamp; all the rest of the items are from the kit. Oh...I had to add stitching and ink! ;)

I apologize for the photos. It's been very cloudy here and the light is bad! I used my flash and it turned out a bit over exposed.

I'm thinking I might have some time today to go blog hopping. I look forward to seeing what you all have been creating and doing. Enjoy your Sunday! :) Kathy

Can Anyone Find Spring?

Hello! Do you know where spring is? It was here yesterday! And the day before that! But today I woke up to find it missing! It's cloudy outside and 40+ degrees! Yuck! Not spring! I suppose I shouldn't complain...I've read on some of your blogs that you have snow!

Well, while spring was here I started this colorful springtime scrapbook page. This photo is from last year, during our traditional chocolate egg hunt.

Can you tell by the photo that it's cloudy outside? That's the best lighting I had. Inside was worse. The detailed photos are better.

What do you think of these papers? They ROCK, huh? They are from a new Two Peas in a Bucket digital kit called 'Spring at Last - Just the Papers' by Chrissy W.

I got just a teensy bit carried away with the stitching, but I love the look! And the inked edges are perfect for Kraft stock. Speaking of inking...I just noticed that I forgot to ink the edges of my butterfly wings. Doing that now! ;)

I added Thickers chipboard letter stickers for the title, stripes of paper for journaling and dry embossed and die cut butterflies.

What do you think of the wee colorful pompom balls for the body of the butterflies? I was trying to do something different. I kind of like it...not sold just yet. Colorful for sure! And fun!

Okay, I'm off to play with another new digital kit from Peas. I'll post when I'm done. Hope you have a great Friday and an awesome weekend! :) Kathy

Sage Risotto with Fresh Mozzarella and Prosciutto

Hello!

I've got a yummy post for you today! Look what we had for dinner last night...

Sage Risotto with Fresh Mozzarella and Prosciutto! It should be one of the four food groups! LOVE! Carbs at their best! I apologize for not making my dish a little more picturesque with a sprig of fresh sage. I was in too much of a hurry to dig in!

This yummy meal was inspired by a post I saw in January on the Very Mary blog. She mentioned trying this recipe from Cooking Light Magazine at My Recipes. Oh heavens am I glad I finally took the time to make it! Next go around, I'm going to add asparagus spears on top!

We always have veggies and fruit with meals, last night was strawberries! Ah...you gotta love springtime berries!

Are you salivating about now? I am! It's about an hour before lunch, but I think I'll wrap up this post and go have some left over risotto! Have a terrific day! :)

Love Sew Much

Hello! Good Monday mornin' to you!

It's been since Thursday since I've hopped on me ole blog with a project share! I managed to make a card between then and now, but I didn't like it and didn't want to take up your time with it! I like the one I created last night, however...

I was in a shabby chic vintage mood and created this hybrid card with a Two Peas in a Bucket digital kit called 'Doodley-Doo #1 Hand Doodled Elements'by Chrissy W. Lots of cute doodles in this kit....perfect for shabby goodenss!

I put my brand new PTI pinking sheers square die cut to work to create the faux fabric swatch for my vintage mother of pearl buttons.

These hearts are one of the doodle images from the kit...super cute! I colored them in with Copic markers and added a little hand stitching, stamp ink and a mini safety pin.

So, it's my 45th birthday today! My dear hubby took the day off so we could go play. Guess where I want to go? You would NEVER guess! Whole Foods! Ha! Yep, one just opened last Wednesday and I can't wait to check it out! Our family likes to eat loads of organic fruits and veggies, meals from scratch and now we're taking our reduce, reuse, recycle practices one step further and will be buying goods in bulk to cut down on packaging. Do you know you can buy shampoos and things in bulk? We'll have a lot fewer plastic bottles and containers this way! There's a thrift store near the new Whole Foods that I want to check out too! I always enjoy finding thrifty goodies!

Well, have a great day! I'll be back when I have something great to share with you! :) Kathy

Butterfly Greeting

Hi!

It's been a couple days since I've posted something crafty for you! I've been tackling other things and haven't had a chance to play and share, but this morning I whipped up this hybrid card.

I used a new digital kit from Two Peas in a Bucket called 'Paperazzi - Vintage'by Polka Dot Pixels. I'm lovin' all things vintage these days so this kit is right up my alley!

Crinkled seam binding is the perfect accent for all things vintage! I topped mine with some pretty felt butterfly die cuts and a little paper rose. A sprinkling of micro mini buttons and rhinestones finished this design. Ah...it felt good to get my craft on today!

Hope you have a beautiful day! :) Kathy

Happy Birthday

Hey!

I'm back with another birthday project, a hybrid card.

What do you think of these colorful printed papers? They're from a new digital kit at Two Peas in a Bucket called  'Country French - Paper Pack'from Polka Dot Pixels.

I added some ink around the edges, some hand stitching, a bow made of jute, a canvas flower from my stash, an eyelet button and a die cut tag for the rub on sentiment. Fun, fun, fun! Pretty quick and easy!

It's a cloudy morning here in North Carolina. There's a chance of rain scheduled for later this afternoon. I hope we get a little rain...we're having a dry season and what's the use of a cloudy day if it's not going to do something worthwhile, right?

What is the weather like where you are? Do you have a busy day planned? I have to go to the post office and the DMV! Yuck! I think I'd rather have a dentist appointment! Ha!

Well, I hope you have a wonderful day no matter what's on your agenda or what the weather does! :) Kathy

Sweet Sunday

Hi!

How was your weekend? I really hope it was a great one!

Saturday started off on the right foot with a trip to the Raleigh flea market, but as time went on, I got the worst headache! Before I knew it, I was taking some Tylenol and a nap! Unfortunately my headache persisted throughout the rest of the day so my boys and I decided not to go out to Red Robin for dinner as we had planned. Bummer!

Today was a new day, however, and I felt awesome! The weather was fantastic too, in the mid 70s! I cleaned the kitchen, made chocolate chip cookies and enjoyed some time in the yard weeding. Yep, I enjoy weeding! The birds were singing and the geese at the lake in the neighborhood were honking. It was so peaceful and beautiful...like meditating.

I'm attaching this picture of the cookies I made to remind us all to take time to smell the flowers and bake something yummy once in a while! :) Kathy

Digital Day

Happy Saturday!

As many of you know, I create quite a few projects using digital kits from Two Peas in a Bucket, but they are usually hybrid pages. Today I have an all digital page share!

I love this kit called 'Life is Sweet'by Tickled Pink Studios! It will not be long before we head out to Volmer Farms to pick strawberries and blueberries! Here's a picture from one of our visits last year. Christopher was showing us a big beautiful strawberry he just picked.

So, what's up for you this weekend? I'm just about to run out to the Raleigh flea market and see if I can't find a few hidden treasures. Oh the cool things I find! I hope you have a terrific weekend! :) Kathy

Cute Chicks

Good Day!

Look what I found the other day at my local antique shop, SuzAnna's.

These ladies are old pipe cleaner chicks attached at the inner tops of their little eggs. The pipe cleaners are so soft and those used for their beaks and head dress are so tiny! And teensy tiny bead eyes. If you could see and hold them in person, they bobble ever so slightly making them so darn adorable!

These two put a great big smile on my face so I thought they might make you smile too! Have a great day! :) Kathy

Happy Birthday

Hello!

It seems I'm in birthday mode with my 'Birthday Boy' page from yesterday and today I have a birthday card share.

You might have to put on a pair of sun glasses for these bright and beautiful papers! They are from a new digital kit at Two Peas in a Bucket called 'Lizzie May - Just the Papers'by Chrissy W.

Lots of little details went into this baby from dry embossed polka dots and die cuts to ribbon, buttons and tags. It was quite fun to put together.

Hopefully whoever this goes to will feel like a star on their big day! :)

So what's going on with you? Whatever you have going on, I hope it's a good one! :) Kathy

Birthday Boy

Good day!

Oh boy! I'm almost a year behind on this scrapbook page! Next month is our son's 10th birthday and I'm just finishing last year's birthday page! Better late than never! Besides, I enjoy being able to scrap old photos from time-to-time. :)

This is a hybrid page I created with a new Two Peas in a Bucket digital kit called 'Hoopla'by Lauren Reid. Perfect for male birthday cards and pages, don't you think?

Along with the kit's papers and present accents, I added two types of American Craft Thickers,a Papertrey Ink die cut for my journaling and a Fiskars border punch.

A little ink around the edges and some hand stitching...this page is done! Like? I like the simple design.

So, what's going on with you, my blogger friends? Do you have projects to share as well? A busy day planned? I'll have to go on a little blog hop to see what's up. I hope you have a wonderful day! :) Kathy

Rabbit Invasion!

Hi!

Spring is in the air! Daylight savings time starts next weekend and our flowering plum tree has started blooming! Ah...my favorite time of year! This weekend I brought out our birds, nests, eggs and rabbits! Lots of rabbits!

Just like Valentine's Day decorating, I like to keep it simple, a little shabby chic vintage, nothing too colorful or over the top. It's easier that way...to just add a few touches to what is already out and to use what we already have in different ways. Would you like to see?

This display in our foyer uses the metal cake stands and frogs that are out year round. The frogs are from different junk hunt trips.

This rusty rabbit was a flea market find from last spring. I think he was just $6-8.

I bought these sweet little quail eggs a couple weeks ago at an antique store for just .20 each. They're real and so darling.

Here's a shot of the coffee table where I just added this nest. The rest was already there.

To the console table in the family room I changed the scrabble word from 'love you' to 'spring' and added the vintage German paper mache egg to the wood tote.

On the opposite side of the console table I added the wire egg holder that I got at Home Goods for a song and put our vintage bunny chocolate mold and antique metal eggs in the bread bowl that was already there.

Over the fireplace I made only one small change. These iron rabbits replaced a bird that was perched on the stack of books.

This fifty cent thrift store paper mache duck is sitting in the kitchen window. Just a touch of spring and Easter in the kitchen.

The china cabnet is housing a few rabbits like this Lefton guy...

and this ceramic pair. Aren't they sweet little things?

This pair of rabbits are made of glass and housed candy before plastic containers were invented.

Last, but not least, another thrift store find, this adorable chicken egg cup.

I hope I've inspired you to add a few spring touches to your home. Or at the very least, I hope you enjoyed seeing the decor from our home.

I wish you a wonderful Monday! :) Kathy
