Card & Page Share

Hello peeps! Hope you are doing well this fine day! The sun is shining brightly and we're expecting a rather warm day for January. Sweet!

So, what was on your agenda yesterday? Anything happening today? I've been getting a ton of stuff done this weekend and making sure I relax a little too. Did some housekeeping yesterday and some craftin'. This morning I groomed the boys. Oh how they hate to have their nails trimmed and their long fur coats brushed. But when it's over...they looooovvveee it! Must feel good.

Okay, how about I share my latest card and scrapbook page?

This project was super fun to do and turned out so sweet! The beautiful floral heart is a digital sticker, new at Two Peas in a Bucket, called 'Blooming Heart Digital Sticker' by Holly Brooke Jones. Can you believe it's just .99 cents!

This floral heart is so pretty on it's own, I didn't want to do too much to it. I gave the image a pink card stock frame and hand stitched border, added a few adhesive pearls and a trio of Swarovski crystals.

Then I added a white satin bow and attached a little 'love' tag with a tiny heart stick pin.

I'm sure I'll be using this digital sticker again! It's just so pretty and easy to work with!

Now here's my scrapbook page...perfect for Kraft Journal's Challenge 4!

You might remember from a previous post that we had a few mice move into our attic? Well, we immediately set up a humane mouse trap in order to relocate the little beasts to a nearby field. Oh how cute the little things were! And here's a scrapbook page about them.

I used another digital kit from Two Peas in a Bucket called 'Brown Paper Bag - The Papers' by Polka Dot Pixels. I really love using Kraft stock and the papers in this kit are perfect for that.

The title, mouse and wheat were created with the Silhouette digital die cut machine. You can see I used some border punches, inked the edges and added stitching.

I also used a few Spellbinders dies to frame the title and journaling. I thought the little mouse brad would be adorable with a '2nd Chance' ticket! Ha! :)

Well, I hope you have a lovely Sunday! :) Kathy

Anyone for a Game of Truck Huck?

Hi!

What's truck huck you ask? Just one of the creative games our son dreams up! Playing truck huck requires no special skills, but to let loose and have a great time. And you mustn't care if your neighbors think you've lost your ever lovin' mind! ;) With that said, the next time there's a fresh fallen snow get out there with your child's Tonka truck and huck it into the air! Laugh like you've never seen anything funnier as it sails overhead! Be sure to not to hit anyone and watch where it lands as it could be buried without a trace until the snow melts away!

Here's a scrapbook page I created of our son playing truck huck. I love that my husband's photo captured the truck in mid air!

I used a trio of favorite patterned papers, Little Yellow Bicycle, Studio Calicoand
My Mind's Eye
. I think these papers worked perfectly with the photo.

I pulled out my stack of American Crafts Thickers and found two fonts/colors for the title. I also used a bunch of asterisks for the center of my die cut snowflakes.

The snowflakes were cut with the Silhouettedigital cutter and the circles were made with the Wizard die cutter and Spellbinders dies.

Hand stitching, border punches and a die cut circle for the journaling finish off this page.

Well, it's not snowing here in North Carolina today. The sun can't decide if its going to shine or not. It's threatening, but the clouds are trying their best to be the star of the day!  I'm routing for the sun to shine and give me energy! What's happening where you are? I've read many blog posts that talk about snow. Well, stay warm and enjoy this fine Friday! :) Kathy

Found on Etsy

Hey! How are you? I hope you've had a fabulous day!

I spent the day with a friend, hence the late post. We went to lunch and stopped by a couple of thrift shops to see what we could uncover. We scored...it's amazing what you can find at a second hand store! I'll share those things with you later this week.

How about some Etsy shares? Not only am I a shopkeeper, but a big fan and customer! There are soooooooo many talented artists and fun vintage shops to peruse! I could share dozens of favorites but I'll spare you a long post and list my last three purchases and pick three shops I love.

I bought this beautiful coffee pot at Urban Farm Girl. This is one gorgeous shop packed full of vintage goodies like this lovely pot!

These two cat nip mice were left in the stocking of my adored felines at Christmas. They are made by ReFabulous a shop that makes lovely sachets, totes and cat nip mice from repurposed fabric!

For something a little different, check out OddznEndz. I found this adorable puppy night light there!

Now for a few items I have on my favorite list...

Isn't this 3 tiered stand to die for! The next time I find $160 just laying around, I think I'll pick one up! Is it not stunning? If you would like to procure one of these for your next event, head over to High Tea for Alice.

With one of these snow guys, winter doesn't seem quite so gloomy does it? These adorable, one-of-a-kind figurines are hand carved, painted and antiqued by the shopkeeper of  Triesti Prusso Design. I hope to own one of these figurines soon! There's a little Easter bunny I have my eye on! ;)

One of my first Estsy purchases from back in 2007 when I started my own shop was one of these berry colander from Baily Bowls. I love mine, it's currently sitting out on our kitchen counter top. Not only a useful piece, but beautiful too!

Wow, that was fun! Did I mention that I LOVE Etsy? ;) I could go on and on! Anyway, I hope you enjoyed my shares. If you have a favorite Etsy shop, please do tell with a comment. And before I leave I'd like to announce the winner of yesterday's card post. Funny that it's a Papertrey Ink design team member since my giveaway card is made with Papertrey goodies! Congratulations goes to Niki Estes of My Paper Creations! Until next time...Enjoy! :) Kathy

Papertrey Ink Goodies & Giveaway

Hello!

How are you this fine day? Earlier this morning I thought we were in for a cloudy day, but the sun has come out and things are looking brighter!

Don't you just love when you get paper craft goodies in the mail? It's like having a birthday without getting older! I especially love when I get a package from Papertrey Ink! Oh happy day! So, yesterday when I opened my box of Papertrey goodies, instead of putting them, I decided to play! That way I would use my new stamps right away! I have a few sets screaming to be dipped in ink!

One of the items I ordered is the 'Tiny Treats Birthday' set that I used to create this card. I also got some the peach felt and the die cut used to make the frame for the felt scalloped circle and stamped image.

I'm still working at Copic coloring. This card is not a great example of my Copic work as the card stock I used made the ink bleed too much. This is the second set of berries I colored since the first one bleed badly!

To give my card a shabby chic look, I inked the edges of my papers and die cuts and used this twill tape for a bow. I thought these October Afternoonpapers were perfect for the strawberry theme since they have an adorable berry print!

Got stitching? Always! ;) And a few vintage mother of pearl buttons.

Would you like to win this card? You know the drill! Or maybe not. Just leave me a comment anytime today before midnight eastern time and you will be entered. That's it! I'll draw a name from the comments tomorrow morning and announce the winner on Wednesday's post. Good luck!

Have a beautiful day! :) Kathy

Pretties

Good day! How are you? Happy to 'see' you!

'Twas a very relaxing weekend here at the Martin household! We worked on a couple jigsaw puzzles and went out to dinner Saturday. I made a pot of soup yesterday, had that cat nap I mentioned Friday and finished this page for Kraft Journal's 3rd Challenge.

It's a hybrid page using digital patterned papers from a Two Peas in a Bucket kit called 'The Best Things - Papier Collection'from Design by Anita. I really like these papers! The colors and designs are perfect for a vintage page of some pretties I've collected lately.

I realized that I've been neglecting my Silhouettedie cutter so I used it to make the page title and butterflies. One of my favorite scrapbookers, Nichole Magouirk, who is doing a new series of how-to videos on Two Peas in a Bucket called 'From Start to Finish' often uses three die cuts stacked on top of each other to create her own chipboard! I tried it for my title and really like the texture it adds!

The butterflies are made with Kraftstock, layered with vellum, stitched down the center and then topped with some pretty little paper flowers. These sweet flowers were a thank you gift for placing on order at Perfectly Pretty on Etsy.

More vellum was combined with some of the digital patterned paper to create my journaling tag. I used an old Sizzix die for that.

As usual, I've included hand stitching, inked edges, jute and border punches. I keep these items close at hand since they tend to make an appearance on almost every project!

I hope you enjoyed my page! And I hope you have a wonderful Monday! :) Kathy

20 Questions

T.G.I.F! Everyone!

I don't have any plans for the weekend and I love it! When I was younger that would have been awful! I would have thought the world was passing me by if I didn't have plans or if I stayed home! Now a weekend at home sounds perfect! I'll read, spend some time with my boys, do some cooking and take a cat nap with my big lazy cat! Sounds heavenly!

Today I have a scrapbook page to share with you! Recently our son Christopher has taken to his world map placemat. He loves to ask what the biggest city of this country is and what's the capital of that country! Every night at dinner and each morning at breakfast it's time for 20 questions! ;) The funny thing is...my husband can answer almost all his questions! I just don't have that kind of brain capacity! ;)

So here's our cat Java checking out the page! I think he likes the jute on that tag! Funny how he has to get into the action when the camera comes out! His lazy brother is nearby, in the middle of a nap, and couldn't be bothered!

For this page I thought the map patterned paper from October Afternoonwould work perfectly! Also the numbers pattern from Jillibean Soupand the dark brown numbered paper from Collage Press. Whenever I can't find any accents in my stash that will work for my page I'll make my own like these stars.

These stars were created with my old Sizzix die cutter. I made some with plain old Kraft stock and then some were made with the map paper. I even hand stitched some.

I love tags and used two for my title and journaling. As you can see, I have my signature hand stitching everywhere! Another thing I like to do is use my border punches.

Oh, I don't want to forget to announce the winner for the card I posted yesterday! Amy from Scrapping my Soul won! Congratulations Amy!

I wish you all a terrific weekend! I may or may not post over the next two days. Depends on how lazy I get! ;) Have a good one! :) Kathy

A Little More Love & Giveaway

Hi ya'll! It's shaping up to be a beautiful day outside! A little on the cold side, but sunny! You gotta love that!

I have a little more love to share today! Another card with hearts! Both this card and the one I posted yesterday are perfect for either Valentine's Day, an Anniversary or just because. Anytime you want to say, "I love you!"

These heart patterned papers are from a new digital kit at Two Peas in a Bucket called 'Love Actually - Heart Printable Papers'from Polka Dot Pixels. This card has only 3 of the 22 papers included in the kit! You can get a whole different look printing these papers on white stock than the KraftI used.

I added my 'must have' hand stitching and a couple accents from Making Memories' Love Struck line. A touch of inkaround the edges, a button and a piece of jute and that's it! Fun card to make!

Would you like to win this card? Just leave a comment anytime before midnight tonight, eastern time. I'll draw a winner from the comments tomorrow morning and announce it on my Friday post. Hope you win! ;)

Have a super day! :) Kathy
